Take Time To Eat The Cookies

This video makes me feel all sorts of things. Like, when was Carter ever that little? And Noah- how did I forget his sweet babyish voice?

It was one of those typical Mom moments where you either get really upset or run for the camera. And when I had originally found him, he had two of those chocolate cookies covering his eyes, "hiding" from me.

This was also when Noah was still on the diet and you can see how good he was, at just four years old, he wouldn't even cheat with one of those cookies.

Maybe it's this ninth month pregnancy stage, but I have been feeling more love for my boys lately than I ever thought possible. It was hard to see them off to school this morning. And pretty much everything Gray says or does makes me want to kiss him all over. I'm a big mess of mush. And I feel so incredibly blessed.

  2. Oh, that's sweet - the lovely, bad little face covered in chocolate, the little toddler voices - aw. these things pass before we even notice, don't they?

  3. Oh my goodness, Carter makes an absolutely adorable Cookie Monster. I am so glad that I am not the only one that would run for the camera to capture the moment before doing the clean up. Memories like this are so great to look back at. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy the days (how ever many they are) with your boys before your new little one arrives :)

  4. so cute!

I love that Carter is just licking his hands the whole time not wanting to miss any chocolate. Noah's voice is so precious as he does all the talking for Noah.

Moments like this make me want more kids sooner.

  5. Our little ones grow up so fast you have treasure EVERY moment with them before they pass. That is the sweetest video. THanks for sharing, it reminds me of my own little one!

  6. That is just too cute! It's great you caught that on camera. :-) I too love how Carter just keeps licking his fingers, lol. And Noah certainly has his story down.

  7. That was just too much! They were oozing with cuteness. I love how Carter took the time to lick off the cookie from every finger. Don't want to waste that chocolate goodness. And your older boy, what a mature little boy he was! "And Daddy is going to say"...it was so cute I was going to cry. Ok I'm PMSing here. Everything is making me cry lately.

I just had the sudden urge to watch my little boys when they were that little.

  10. Oh my goodness...how sweet are they?! I thought that it was great how Noah said that Carter needs a bath...but that he didn't! My 21 month old daughter was watching with me and she instantly picked on the mention of "Cookie Monster" and "bath". Then she said bye-bye baby at the end of the video! Thanks for sharing this with us.

  11. Parts I LOVE:
    1. Carter doesn't even stop with the cookies even though you are clearly not happy. ;)

    2. Carter needs a bath, but I don't. (Because I'M the GOOD son.) LOL

    3. That Gracie Allen moment: "Say good-bye, Carter." "Good-by Carter."

    Very cute.

I'm glad someone is feeling mushy about their littles at this point...I'm just feeling on the verge of tears and want to cry 24/7. Yeah, that's what month 9 does to me.
Oh, how old were they there? Too cute.

  20. Oh, I love "say bye Carter" and Noah says "bye Carter". So cute!

  21. What a good little boy not to eat those cookies because he knew he couldn't. Very impressive. He sounds like how my son talks and what he would say (Noah).

And Carter...he was adorable. Reminds me of Zane. Boy they do grow up far too fast don't they? And before we know it our very last baby will be out of the house and we'll be like "where in the world did that time go?".

  23. This proves you're getting really close, the 'ball of mush' feeling. I'm so there with you. I think I say that a lot lol

  24. I know that feeling... I had that feeling the day before Grayson came.... you're getting close!

  25. I was going to say everything Melanie said, so I'll just say "ditto". :)

The boys watched this with me and were mesmerized. They giggled and "awww"-ed and asked me (again) when they're going to see them.

Also, Jamie told me that he told the teacher yesterday at church that he was allergic to the snack and "didn't eat it even though it would have been really easy to". Such big boys.

  26. Oh golly that made me laugh! They are too cute. I love how you and Noah are just talking and Carter is all like, "Yeah whatever but I am still gonna eat these cookies!"

  27. How sweet and endearing. I love how Noah was so matter of fact about the whole thing and then told you to give Carter a bath. And I couldn't stop laughing at the true delight that Carter was experiencing in licking his fingers clean of his pilfered treasure.

I mean, how could you not love your children more each day? I don't think it is pregnancy doing that to you Steph. I think it is because those boys of yours are incredibly precious!

  28. I love how he just kept licking his fingers despite the "interrogation"

    What a great memory!

My daughter got stuck in a baby walker (we had borrowed it to see if she liked it). She got her skinny body down through on leg opening of the thing and was sitting on the floor with her head sticking up into the seat area. I sooooo wanted to get the camera but was afraid she would seriously hurt herself.
