I've still got so much to tell you about the Babywearing Conference I attended back in June! I learned a lot and collected some of your great questions and plan to answer every single one very soon. Feel free to ask more in the meantime, if you'd like, and I promise to do the best I can to answer every single one!
Don't forget about the awesome Babywearing Bloggers Blogroll listing all the babywearing bloggers out there. Also, the Baby Sling Blog has a little contest going on if you'd like to share your babywearing pics by the water.
Speaking of water, many people have asked if I am planning a water birth. I am not. I actually might labor in the bathtub if I wish (and I've done this before going to the hospital with my other births) but I imagine that I will also be moving around and the baby will most likely be born in our bedroom or wherever I might be in my house at that very special time!
And, um, that time is coming so soon!
Yay! for baby wearing. I need to learn how to position a baby in a sling in the cradle hole. I never felt safe with this carry and so many friends of mine want to learn too. any tips?
ReplyDeleteI miss babywearing a little one. There's nothing quite like finally having the baby on the outside, but still so close to you. I'll bet you are so excited and ready!
ReplyDeleteLuke used to snuggle up in his sling, so content. Now he's a little bit more wiggly, but I just ordered a new wrap and can't wait to put him in a hip carry!
Hooray for babywearing! It has saved my sanity on several occasions in the few months since Boo arrived. And it is such a nice feeling to have him so close (not to mention my hands free) when we're out and about.
ReplyDeleteRight now I would like to find a pouch or something of that nature that would fold up smaller than my ring sling and fit in the diaper bag better. I'm having trouble getting a good fit with a pouch (maybe b/c of my body shape?); any other suggestions for something easy to throw in the diaper bag?
I'm sure you're super excited about meeting your baby girl; you don't have much longer to wait!
I'm sooo excited for baby Ivy! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love labouring in bathtubs! I hope to be able to do it this time, I sat in a jacuzzi while in labour with my first and fully planned on it last time but she wanted out too fast.
ReplyDeleteI do have a question about babywearing, I'm trying to figure out what to buy still, I don't like spending too much money so I'm hoping to get something that I can use the whole time I wear him. Is a sling or a wrap better? my husband will probably wear too, so we need something we can both use.
i loved wearing all five of my babies and now i am enjoying wearing the grandbaby

I really want a mei tai carrier but don't know which one is the best to get? What company or brand do you recommend?
ReplyDeleteI got to see first hand how amazing baby wearing is at a wedding yesterday. A friends baby was fussing at the reception, and mom put her in the sling, and she quieted immediately, and soon was asleep. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sad that I never wore any of my babies. I never knew about it.
I can't wait to meet her!
