So yesterday at the library someone recognized me from my blog. (Hi, Kari!) And I am now thinking I must take a shower and apply proper makeup before leaving the house from now on.
You may not want to get your tired self in a pony tail out & about running errands noticed, but if you want a new way for blog exposure and more readership, I recommend you check out Adoptic. You can see the widget in my sidebar to the right- it promotes little snippets of the blog posts you choose to feature on many blogs all across the blogosphere- for free. Signing up is still by invitation only, so if you are interested, please email michele@adoptic.com. Once you've joined, it's so simple to choose which posts you want to feature, and be sure to update daily as you write new posts and also as new blogs are added to the communities. You can choose on which blogs you would like your snippets featured and so forth. And let me know, too! I've really enjoyed being part of the Adoptic family so far!
Alright, we're off to the park soon, so I guess I better make myself presentable...

You never know who you will run into. You are miss popularity. Have fun at the park...looks like a beautiful day to play. I can't believe I'm first to comment...
Eek! It really through me when that happened to me, it was cool but at the same time it was like my brain didn't know how to process it.
I feel like a wimp but Adoptic was too much work for me. I just like to update my site when I can and then having to log in some where else was just too much for me. Like I said I'm a wimp! Maybe I'll give it another whirl.
*threw me (not through me.)
That's crazy cool. My blog world doesn't extend to strangers in my community... I don't think?!
Oooh - you're becoming a celebrity! Next come the paparazzi! I kinda like the anonymity of my little bloggy world - not sure how I would handle fame . . .
Have fun at the park. Oh boy, I go out without make-up a lot. Of course, I am not sure that anyone would recognize me anyways!
How funny!
and you look great all the time!
You pushed me over the Adoptic edge. I'd gotten an invitations from Lisa the Preacher's Wife a few days ago, but hadn't acted on it. Until now.
And hey -- don't I know you from your blog? ;-) You stand out with the blue hair.
(OH! Can I also say that sometime over the weekend I suddenly got the pun of your "Blue Like Hair" title?!? Call me slow.)
Time to start wearing big sunglasses and baseball caps. :)
That's why they always say have your make-up and hair done.
Amy
Have fun at the park! It's a beautiful day to be out and about. I always seem to run into former students and their parents when I look my worst.
Hi! Kari introcuded us at the park this morning. I just wanted to let you know I stopped by!
That's so freaky! I was at the library this morning, and I found myself looking around, lol.
man - i hope i can always head out of the house without getting recognized LOL i rarely have time for make up!
That site sounds great - I will have to check it out! THANKS for the tip. :)
I saw Ashlee from Mama's Nest once in K-Mart, and I almost went up to her and said "Hi...I read your blog all the time! How's X?" I think I would have really freaked her out and I would have felt like a huge stalker! But, when you read someone's blog all the time, you start to feel like you know them! It's all just a little bit freaky to me still. Anyway...have a nice day!
Nikki
I'll be moving back to my small hometown in a week, and am NOT looking forward to running into old high school friends in the grocery store.
I'll actually have to do my hair, put makeup on, and get out of my comfy old yoga pants!
That's pretty cool that you got recognized!
I've never been recognized for blogging, but I often sing at my church and we have a large congregation, so I'm sometimes recognized by someone I might not know! I try to at least have my hair brushed and apply a little eyeliner. I don't always get that far, though!!
LOL How funny...I'm happy being unnoticed in town!
Since I live in such a small town it would be amazing if I ran into any from my blog. Ah, the joys of not needing to take a shower yet. LOL
I emailed Michele! Thanks for the tip. I found you through your blog designers! Looking for a shopping blog design, did you enjoy working with Be Design??
Read your guest post, "The Needle..." Good information and very informative. It's heartbreaking to hear the stress and anguish you went through!
You big celebrity you!
I hope the park was fun! Bloglines finally picked up your feed, and all of the sudden I had like 15 AIB posts!
Yah!
Fun. My blog is still fairly small, so I think I can still duck out preshower for a quick errand. Thanks for the link!
just sent my email....see you on the dark side.
haha that is too funny. I've had people say I look familiar and in the back of my head I think have you ever read my blog?
Steph,
I thought you looked great! You're too funny.
It was fun running into you at the park today-especially right on the heels of my telling Jody about meeting you at the library. It's a small world after all! :-)
Seee you again soon, I'm sure!
I would love to see you at the library but I don't think you'd want to be in Texas right now because it's really hot. Although the library has AC. I'll look for you next time! HA! ; )
Ha! That's so cool that you bumped into my sis a couple times! Awesome. I suppose it's bound to happen...the bloggy world isn't really all that big.
Blessings to you all,
Happi
P.S. I am checking the calendar about the bloggy meet up and will definitely tell my sis about it!
Love your blog. Thanks for visiting mine, Flipflops and Applesauce.
Glad to hear your laundry is piling up just like mine :)
I am dying. I have been recognized several times from my hair bloggy...my children even more. I am sad they don't come up and talk to me, instead they whisper and say "Is that who I think that is?"
How funny... you just never know. It really is a small world.
Hope you had a good day at the park :)
Thanks for the tip! My big goal for the summer is to get a prettier, more noticed blog!
How crazy that this blog thing has created mom celebrities!! So neat....and weird at the same time. FYI....I don't think you could look bad sans makeup and ponytail anyway ;)
