I felt a teensy weensy bit guilty about taking another weekend (in a row) all for myself. You'd think the Disney trip would suffice for a good month or two at least. But, I'd made plans a long time ago for a spa day with Lori on Saturday. And what kind of friend would I be to back out on a massage, facial, parrafin wax, & manicure?
Then yesterday was a Chicago Moms Blog brunch. I could probably never get my fill of bloggy mom chatting, eating brunchy foods, laughing, eating some more... now I've got even more bloggers to add to my collection. Pictured: Amy, Arianne, Farrah, Catherine, Tracey, Lydia, Mary Anne, Alma, Jennifer, MJ, Cindy, & Me.
Mary Anne was quite the hostess (her home was like a magazine filled with lots and lots of books), giving me my first (and hopefully not last) taste of dishes from Sri Lanka. And I got to hang with Amy again (two weekends in a row!)
Arianne and I made the quick drive downtown together and afterwards couldn't just go straight home. So we stopped off for a bit of shopping (including our first encounter in a LUSH store) and ended our Chicago night with 5-cheese lasagna at Leona's. Mmmm... and I am dreaming of the leftovers in my fridge.
So where was my poor family this whole weekend, motherless again? Well, Daddy took charge and for the hours I was away they made forts under blankets and ate french fries and finished homework and wrestled and stuff. Just as I was refreshed when I came home, hubby gushed about what a good and perfect day he had, too.
Yes, I am a happy Mama.
Pics thanks to Amy.

That sounds like a great weekend you had! And it is so great that your husband enjoys your boys so much. You should be a happy mama!
Hey, that top looks awfully familiar! =) It looks great!
I had a great time Saturday and it looks like you had a little mommy break too. You deserve it because soon you'll be the mom of four kids. AH!
How's that blue sapphire polish looking anyway? After looking at my pink polish, I feel like a secretary on "Working Girl". HA!
Lori
:)
Sounds like a fantastic weekend!
Sounds like a great weekend! What fun.
Sounds like a great weekend. I think you've inspired me to take a weekend to myself. That is when I'm done breastfeeding lol.
smart ladies and good food...can't beat that!
Glad you had a fabulous weekend! So good and rejuvenating to get time away.
SOunds like you all had a blast!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend. Enjoy yourself all that you can. Especially since you are pregnant
So, where is a good spa? That is my one request for Mother's Day. I have never had a pedicure.
Sounds like a great weekend. I think I need to get out more. All I did was work and go to birthday parties.
I was fun to meet y'all and have some mommy hang out time. We should do it more often!! :) I admit to being a little jealous of the lasagna.....
I think it's awesome that you're taking time for yourself. Especially before the baby arrives. Good for you!
I so wish there was a bloggy meetup group in my area. I may have to start one. BTW, I'm meeting with Darcie on Wednesday. Thanks for "connecting" us.
Wow! It looks so wonderful- I am so glad you have such a supportive network like that! That lasagna sounds divine too- maybe I will have to make a trek to Chicago soon to eat some of that :)
It was so fun on Sunday! 2 weekends in a row is a rare treat for any mom. Enjoy and release the guilt!
So great to meet you, Steph! And how sweet to arrive home to a happy family. My girls went with Daddy to the Planetarium AND the aquarium AND had naps! An all-around awesome day.
Sounds like you had another GREAT weekend!!
Hmmm....
Massage, facial, parrafin wax & manicure = Happy Mama
Forts, french fries, & wrestling = Happy Daddy
And they say us women are tough to please. Wherever do they come up with these things? ;)
I'm right there with ya girl! Hope you enjoyed being spoiled at the spa. I'm assuming you did the prenatal massage. I never did one of those. How was that?
I felt bad spending what...5 minutes??? at Maryann's! It was good to see you again so soon...and then again in another week, right? Yay!
sounds like a great weekend. sometime you need time to yourself.
Ooooooohhh Lush Cosmetics. Love! I would eat their whole Karma line if I could, it smells so freaking good.
The only thing better than having a great Girl's Day Out is coming home to happiness. Then, your fun doesn't get ruined by guilt or hubby's bad attitude. (Not that it ever happens at my house!) he...he..
I think we should be able to get away EVERY weekend! Is that asking too much? LOL
Sounds great! And I'd love to have a room like that with all of my books..
I have NEVER met another blogger. (I don't count my sister :)
I think it's high time...
:)

Sounds perfect. Take time while you can before the baby comes.
