Inquiring Minds Want To Know

Thanks to the birthday girl Arianne for introducing my blog to her Twittering friend Guy Kawasaki, one of the creators of the new Alltop.com.

And no- I don't Twitter yet. I don't know that you really would find what I'm doing at any given moment all that exciting. I hesitate to post some of the things I even write here on my blog because- yawn- really? You really want to know?

I only imagine that my Twitter box (is that even what you call it? A Twitter box?) would look something like: Gotta go wipe a bum! or (you'd see this one a lot) Stephanie wishes she were sleeping. or Score! Gift bags on clearance at Target! You know, something like that.

But I might be missing out. If I had been on Twitter earlier I would have known before everyone else that Ashlee had been nesting over at a new fabulous blog!

Anyway, back to this Alltop.com thing. If you don't already check it out all the time but love to read blogs and such, then get over there (right after you read this post and comment and then Twitter your friends about it of course). Three fantastic friends have sorted collections of sites by topic and then they display the latest five stories from each one all on one page. So, like, the Moms section, for example, is my favorite. That's where you'll find me. And Arianne's blog To Think Is To Create will be in a new category of bloggers called "Life" -blogs that aren't just about one thing.

And wouldn't you know... while composing this message and linking to Twitter... I joined.

  1. I started reading this post about how you don't Twitter, and I was thinking, "Wait a minute... didn't I just talk to you on Twitter this morning!?" Then I read the rest of the post and I was happy I wasn't going crazy. :) Welcome aboard... I bet you'll get addicted soon enough!

  2. I do think it can be addicting, but I've also made so many connections that it's really worth it to take a little time to say "holla. I'm cooking noodles".

Also, I seriously need to know how you did that little quote over your head. HILARIOUS woman!

I'm not a big twitter fan. In the circle that I follow on twitter (not mom bloggers but business owners) no one really interacts. It's just them posting about what they are doing at any given moment. BORING!

If I wanted to know what people were doing in their days I'd read their blogs. I love blogs for that reason and I love IM for communicating. I'm not sure where twitter fits into that...I doubt I'll ever get into it much.

I use it for business and a quick glance to see if anyone is doing anything interesting (mostly not lol) only a couple times per week. I just haven't gotten into it.

Maybe it's different in the mom blogging circles. If you get a twitter account let me know. Worth checking out the bloggers...I could be missing out.

  5. P.S. re: hearing things first, yesterday I heard about an earthquake in Tokyo before it was on the news (people there twittering it).

  6. I have a Twitter account which I have never, ever used, so I don't think you'll be seeing many interesting updates from me! :)

  7. Congrats on Alltop! I can't believe you are going to be Twittering, but then again you are all tech savvy and what not...

  10. My hubby Twitters and the birdy chirp sound it makes when a new message comes in drives Little bananas. Every time she hears it she wants to see the bird. Or, on second thought, maybe it drives us bananas. :-)

  11. I will have to check out Twitter later when AJ is sleeping, sounds like it could be fun. "Just stepped in bananas...realized we haven't had bananas all week...what did I just step in?" Could be interesting...Thanks for the info!

  12. I still don't get Twitter.... Nor did I understand MySpace or any other pages that aren't actually used for writing an entire thought.

Truly a sign of getting old, isn't it?
