It's party time again over at 5 Minutes For Mom! Last year's was a huge success and I can only imagine that the Ultimate Blog Party of '08 will be bigger and better. The party is officially UP!
So, come on in!
I'm Stephanie, and I write about my Adventures In Babywearing among many other things. I don't wear my youngest at all anymore (unless you count the fact that he is constantly climbing on me), but I am carrying around a little bean in my belly (see the little floating baby to the right) due this September. I am 12 weeks along now and still have no belly to show off!
I have three boys- Noah, Carter, & Grayson- and we're still not sure if we're going to find out early or be surprised with this one!
Oh, and baby names! We have no names picked out. Be a doll and leave your suggestions in the comments!
There's a giveaway going on at my blog here until next Monday March 17, too!
I am a freelance writer for NWIparent Magazine and also write the blog Close To Home for the NWIparent website.
I love to knit and so of course have a knitting blog, too. Oh, and if you are on Ravelry, look me up! I'm BabywearKnittery. I review products now and then at the totally awesome Mama Speaks (be sure to bookmark it as we always talk about the latest of everything and have something to win almost every day!) And I am also a contributor at the Chicago Moms Blog. (And I am making a confession there today about my birth plans.)
Yeah, I know. I must like to blog.
I am trying to think of a fun party game to play, but am not that creative at the moment. So, if you have any odd or fun questions for me, ask away and I'll try to answer them all during this party week!
Enjoy the parties! And don't forget to leave your baby name suggestions!
Back to Adventures In Babywearing.
I'd love to win any of the fabulous prizes at 5 Minutes For Mom's party! Here's my top 5 faves:
-The Bead Dangle Photo Tile Necklace from Elemental Memories
-Gray would be in love with the Black and White Rocking Horse from A Rocking Horse To Love!
-$50 Gift Certificate to Magical Wonders
-12x12 Custom Wall Canvas from JuJu Beane Boutique
-Moby Wrap from Christine at From Dates To Diapers...and beyond!

ReplyDeleteOur site 5minutesformom.com is down right now!!! I'm so sorry if you're trying to get your link added to the Mr. Linky.
We are so upset, it went down just before we could press publish on the post and we are waiting for the hosting company to fix the problem.
Our sincere apologies to you and everyone else who is reading this right now.
It is 3:00 AM EST right now... Hopefully it'll be up soon...
Thanks so much for partying with us! We are soooooooo sorry that we are down. We in shock about it!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for baby names what about Olivia or Jackson? ;)
You sure do love to blog! Congrats on your little bean. My daughter's name is Eliza (like Eliza Doolittle) feel free to steal it if you like. How did you get into freelance writing?
ReplyDeleteI love the name Claire. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteI read you all the time, and am finding wearing my over 20 pound 9 month old really...really hurts my back. They grow so fast!!
I like Emma for a girl.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, Kelly at kellyskornerblog.com told her baby names that she has picked out for when she has one. They were both so cute. Boy-Hudson Walker and Girl - Harper Brown.
Since I am done having kids I will tell you my names. Boy: Saxton Tate
ReplyDeleteGirl: I have my two favorites already used for my girls but if I had another girl she would be Brynn Lee.
I am so glad I stopped by to find out that the blog party is done. I was getting frustrated.
how about makayla or mckenna for a girl for a boy kieth or toby
ReplyDeletebwalleshauser@yahoo.com
I had no idea you were involved in so many different things! You are Super Blogga Mama!! : )
ReplyDeleteMy favorite girl name right now is Lillie/Lily and I love Jacob/Jake for a boy.
Happy Blog Party!!
Whew I'm so relieved! I thought it was just me that wasn't able to get on their site. I really enjoy your blog.
ReplyDeleteI love Oliver and Rosemary.
ReplyDeleteJust to let you all know, we are trying to get our hosing company to deal with our problem. We can't believe this is happening and we are totally distraught and devastated!!!
ReplyDeleteWe will be announcing a new "start time" as soon as we get live again so that everyone can have a fair shot to get their links in.
We are sooooo sorry!!!!!!!!
What happened to Rhubarb??
ReplyDeleteYou are a busy, blogging mama!
ReplyDeleteWhen our son was born the girl name we had picked out was Megan. I love that name. And Natalie too.
For boys? Lately I like Issac.
You know I love you, girl!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, I have to throw out Rebecca for a girl's name since that would have been the name we would have used for a girl. Now a boy's name, hum......I'm lost!!!
Lori
It's so nice to meet you - congratulations on the bean in waiting - as far as baby names go, I'm not a very good person to ask. I named all 3 of my girls beginning with the same letter. Not a good idea. I holler. Wrong name. They laugh. Anyhow, at least I was smart enough to name The Boy different. Still mess it up, though. Anyhow. Thanks for having us and enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteIS it that time again already?? My how time flies!!
ReplyDeleteMy sling giveaway is up this morning too!
As for baby names, I wish I could help. I'm 7 weeks out & we still are up in the air. EEKK!!! Here's hoping we come home from the hospital with a named baby! ;)
I really like the names Claire and Anna or Anne for a girl. My daughters name is Lillian. Boys names are harder for me. My sons name is Isaac. Picking out names is tough for me.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...baby names:
ReplyDeleteGirl:
Addison
Kyleigh
Cale
Boy:
Brenner
Cade
Jax
Hope these help...of course the boy name I'm most partial to is Jackson, because that's my little one's name...but you could totally use it if you wanted too! :D
i love addison from haley's above. of course, i shouldn't start off with a girl's name... just in case! ummm? i like conner and preston (kinda stuffy, huh?) hmm... i don't know. boys names are hard!
ReplyDeleteBoy:
ReplyDeleteJakob
Isaiah
Elijah
Girl:
Hannah
Rhiannon
Brianna
Very nice to meet you!!! I love your blog and my very NON-bloggy sister has been here many times as a fellow babywearer!
ReplyDeleteSince I have 6 boys (therefore had to come up with 12 names heehee) it would be a lot easier for me to share my beloved girly names with you: Emma or Emmalyn or even Emmaleigh, or there's Anna or Annalia. There's also Hannah and Ruth and I could really just go on and on forever LOL!!
Blessings to you during this pregnancy!!!
Shera
W00t! The Blog Party is on! Congrats on the pregnancy! I love being surprised, so of course I think you should go that way. We found out by accident this time (the u/s tech didn't ask if we wanted to know!) so that was kind of disappointing. Anyway, Happy Blog Party!
ReplyDeleteVisit my party at http://usr-bin-mom.com. I'm celebrating my 8th blogging anniversary and having a giveaway.
PS, we have LOTS of baby names to suggest if you like Irish names. Mine so far are: Aryanna, Aoghdan, Seamus, Hamish, Sinead, and Aisling. For this one we picked Roisin or Diarmuid. (Obviously we know which one we are using, but we're not telling yet!)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the picture of you! Party on! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're entirely too cute!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the pregnancy. I have no baby name advice though. :) It's such a personal decision!
Congrats! I hope you have a girl and name her Emma Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I had a hard time deciding on name, so I don't think that I would be very much help.
ReplyDeleteIt is great that you love to knit, I'm a crochet gal, but would love to get into knitting also. I'm waiting for my ravelry invitation.
It was great to find your site!
I like Karis and Olivia for girls names...Karis is Greek for Grace..the biblical term for the Grace Christ gave when he dies on the cross...and for boys well there are James Timothy and sam.
ReplyDeleteI like pretty traditional names.
hmmm Baby names. Well you could have one of my children names. lol Jessica, Sara, Vallie, Brett, Brody and Todd.
ReplyDeleteVallie is the one I get a lot of comments on. Its not short for Valerie. Its and old Pennsylvania name. This was her grandmothers name and her grandmothers grandmothers name.
Good luck
Nikki
More power to you! We are swamped with our 2 kids! We did a lot of babywearing back in the day ;)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be much help with the name suggestions but I hope you get a baby girl this time! I also pray for a safe and normal delivery!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you. Looking forward to the belly pics soon.:-)
ReplyDeleteGreat Party Steph.
ReplyDeleteMy 2nd pick name for Little Man when I was PG with him was Seth Connor. Since I"m done 4 is my limit I'll toss that one out there for a boys name and Alivia Rose for a girl.
If you get time stop over at my party, Hope to see you there.
KC
Still waiting for that baby bump, huh? LOL. I am so jealous. By the time I am 8 weeks old people can already tell. By 5-6 months along, people start asking, "Any day now, huh?" and at the end I am asked, "Are you having twins?" When I say "No.", their eyes get all big and they ask, "TRIPLETS?".
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough, I always have small babies, and all at least a week early. Go figure!
For baby names, I can only suggest some of my favorites (all of which I have already used). I am out of names myself, should #10 come along.
Girls:
Audrey
Adrienne
Gabrielle
Miette
Natalie
Boys:
Alexander
Anthony
Shane
Reagan
(Shhh...I don't usually use their real names online.)
i think i've been to this blog before. :) you sure do a lot more then i do. xD you must be constantly busy.
ReplyDeleteFirst, congrats on the new baby! For boys we love the names Alexander and Jackson, a couple girl names I like but we didn't use yet are Noelle, Zoe, Paige and Ashlyn.
ReplyDeleteI so want to learn to knit. I sort of learned the basics on my own with a book, but really need to sit down and work on it.
Come visit my party post if you get a minute! Have a great week!
I love the names of your boys now. I have a Noah, too, and we had picked out Grayson for our 2nd boy but he turned out to be a "she" :) I hope you get a little girly-girl. I would love to help with names when/if you find out! :) I love your blog and have visited before. Hope you have a nice party!
ReplyDeleteSteph - I love your site. I've visited before and will bookmark it now. For baby names...I like unusual ones...how about Xylie or Malea for a girl and Lex or Jax for a boy?
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm completely and utterly out of ideas for girl names... :) But our current favorite boy name (if it ever becomes an issue, LOL) is Elijah.
ReplyDeleteGreat party post - and congrats on your stroller win!! :)
OOOOH, Baby names! I love baby names...
ReplyDeleteLhynnae was my college roommate, and she had a great name.
Riley is my current favorite boys name, after Alexander, which BOTH of my best friends stole (one named their son Alexander, the other named her daughter Alejendra, so Alex is Right Out if and when I have another child... but you can still use it)
I've seen your name around the blogosphere...just wanted to stop by and say "hello".
ReplyDeleteCongrats on #4...how 'bout a Colton?
Aidan and Cameron are both great boys names. And Heather is perfect for a girl. Oh wait...those are my kids' names! Please join me at http://mom2ways.blogspot.com/2008/03/party-time.html.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI like Lily, Emma, and Elliot for girls (my husband nixed them all when we were name hunting). And Rider for a boy.
I am here all the time, but thought I would say hello:)
ReplyDeleteIsabella was going to be my girl "go to" name...but since I just have a boy...Im OK with giving it up.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Stopping by to say Hi! Sorry, my mind is blank when it comes to names. I didn't decide on my DS name until a week or two before he was born.
ReplyDelete-Heather
Congratulations on the pregnancy! I had a girl name picked out for my son, and he ended up not liking it too much, so I went with the boy name I had chosen.
ReplyDeleteCome on over to our party when you get a chance. We've got some great giveaways!

Thanks for invite! I love to read your blog from time to time. Well, all of your sons' names were on my top 10 list so we must have the same taste. I have b/g twins (Lauren and Logan). Here are some of my suggestions: Brayden, Cooper, Ethan, Audrey, Anna, Madeline. P.S. My party post is up~
ReplyDeleteBaby names are tough, both my children got their names so differently. Our son's name came to me in a dream and our daughter's name is both of our fraternal grandmother's. Although I didn't use Kali, I have always loved it for a girl (didn't match the last name) and Peter is a good strong boys name that we didn't use either.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new bean and hope to stop by again.
Congrats on your baby bean! This seems to be the year for boys but maybe it will be a little girl! Here are some names:
ReplyDeleteBoy: Landon, and Girl: Lily.
What a fun blog you have! Yeah for the Ultimate Blog party! Stop by and say hi!

ReplyDeleteGirl names: Avery, Claire, Anna
Hooray for the blog party!
Hey Steph! Good to "meet" you once again! I need to swing by here more often. Congrats on the impending re-mommyhood! "Lundie" isn't too bad of a name - I certainly haven't met too many, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Lund
So nice to meet you! Congratulations on the new little one!

Hi! You've got a great website, I am a babywearer and like to read about your adventures.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the little bean.
Baby names...
I like the name Rose for a girl. I love the name Owen for a boy.
Glad you're feeling up to partying (even if it is virtual)! The baby name game is so tough - at least in our house, baby Boo still doesn't have a middle name - but I'm sure you will come up with the perfect name for your little one by the time he or she arrives.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the party!
Hey! I enjoyed checking out your site. Congrats on you pea pod:) I love the name Lydia for a girl (but my husband doesn't), not sure about a boy name though.
ReplyDeleteGosh, has it been 12 weeks already? Time is flying! But, I bet all that icky feeling gunk is about gone...yahoo!
ReplyDeleteHave fun partying this week Steph!
I'm due in September too!! I'm 13 weeks right now :) I'm trying to avoid the whole baby name thing here right now... we're constantly changing our minds or hating what the other chooses lol. I'm bookmarking you, so I can come back more

ReplyDeleteenjoy the party! greetings from austria!
Congratulations on your coming "bean". As for baby names, I love the name Solomon and Sarah. My grandaughter is named Stephanie, it is my favorite name.
ReplyDeleteSo I arrived here and thought, hmmm, this looks familiar. Turns out I had been here before, loved your blog, forgot to bookmark, and of course, not been able to find my way back! Good thing you hosted a party, I'm so glad to be back...bookmark this time...check!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to party at my place, you can head on over and find it here!
You can use Lexi, my sister in law just stole it from me by naming her Leap Day baby Alexis.
ReplyDeleteI love baby names almost as much as baby wearing. ;) My Finnegan is still a wrap baby at nearly one and more than 25 pounds. I do have to admit that I'm getting a little worn out by the added weight, though.
ReplyDeleteI love to knit as well, but I haven't really posted many knitting entries yet. I'm forever waiting to finish the second sock before I write, and I have a major finish one sock and move on to a new project problem.
My favorite baby name for boys right now is Jasper. Yeah, it's an old guy name, but it's cool and fairly unusual, which I like. If Finn had been a girl, he was going to be Harper, so I like Erika's idea. :)
what a great blog Stephanie! And I loved visiting your knitting blog, I'm an aspiring knitter who has the the blankets and scarves down, not so good with hats and sweaters yet! I am in the process of making a bib using sugar n' cream cotton, and it's turning out quite nicely. Wonderful to absorb all that drool you should knit some for the new baby. Anyway as for names I love Jaina for a girl - for a boy I like Jason, but since you already have Grayson, probably not good. I also like Luke. Stay safe and Healthy!
ReplyDeleteLove the name of your site and what a cute floating baby! LOL
ReplyDeleteI like Savannah for girls
and
Caden for boys and girls
Hi Steph!
ReplyDeleteA few baby names I am in love with:
Girls:
Samantha Alaxandria
Samantha Rose
Alaxandria Rose
Boys:(note boys names are harder for me to think of)
Zackary Ray
Jackson Lee
Not sure if you like any of them but wanted to put these out there for you!
Hello Stephanie! It's nice to meet you! I'm a "J" name freak! LOL I love the name 'Jordan' for boy or girl and 'Jillian' also for a girl - I've never had any girls! Hope you're enjoying the party!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting a party! I have you bookmarked already, but wanted to stop by and partake in the party!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
ReplyDeleteCute names for your children! I love Noah! My hubby and I are adopting and actually my party post has baby names as a main topic, we have a few names under our hat and they have to stay there cause every time I say one outloud someone hijacks it! Uggg.
I just really want to chose a name that is not common, but strong and pretty at the same time.....such a perpetual conversation I have going on in my head. LOL
Stephanie, Congratualtions on your pregnancy, I am 13 weeks 3 days along due 9/11.
ReplyDeleteAs for names if it is a girls we are naming her Rozilynn (Rozy) and a boy Nathaniel (Nate). Those are the names we picked you are welcome to use them if you like. We like to go with the older less common names :)

Wow, you are a busy woman with all of that blogging!
ReplyDeleteAs for baby names, I love the name Malloren for a girl, I don't like the meaning (it means laurel of bad luck) but I think the name is unique and beautiful.
Hmm ... names ... well, my only son already shares a name with one of your sons, so I don't have much to add there. Although William pops into my head when I read the other three names!
ReplyDeleteGirls - Elizabeth, Abigail, Sophie, Isabel, Emma, Lilly are some of my favorites =)
Great to be back here. Enjoy the party.
ReplyDeleteI love wearing my babies! I am partial to the names Anna Grace, and Clara for girls. For boys, I like Justus, Jonathan, and Caleb. Good Luck with your birth!

Hi! I have seen your name all over bloggy land for a long time, but since I have no babies to wear, I don't think I've frequented your site before. So I just wanted to meet you and say hello. Have a great party!
ReplyDeletecongratulations on your fourth little one!
ReplyDeletecongratulations on your fourth little one!
ReplyDeleteWow! I never thought I was going to get to the end of that comment list. I can't believe all the baby name suggestions. So, it looks like other people took my suggestions, so I'll just say Shawna for a girl. Yeah, that's my name, and I would love to pass it on. It doesn't really sound good to say Shawna Junior, so we won't be using it again here. I also like Brianna. But, for boys it needs to be something strong. Maybe a Jack. Your party was fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! Congratulations on your newest addition. Hmmm names? That is such a tough one!

ReplyDeletecongrats on your pregnancy! I'm due in a few weeks, and we've kept the baby's name a secret! Everyone knows it's a boy, so we had to have something be a surprise!
ReplyDeleteYou make wearing babies one of the hippest things to do. Great party post, Steph.
ReplyDeleteHope you keep feeling well!
Just droppin' in on your party to say hi!

ReplyDeleteStopping by for the party! Congrats on the little bean. Your knitting work is beautiful! I crochet but have yet to try anything with sleeves, lol.
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie nice to meet you!!! Congrats on the new little bean!!!
ReplyDeleteHi and Nice to meet you!! We are a BWing family here as well. Congrats on the coming new arrival!
ReplyDeleteHi... hope you are doing well... it is nice to meet you and good luck on your impending baby... take care...
ReplyDeletelove your page very unique
ReplyDeleteI like the background of your site! And I like to knit too... now I just need to find the time to do it now that I have a baby!
ReplyDeleteHi again... sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm Jen, not David (husband).
ReplyDeleteI tried to go with unique names when I was pregnant with my youngest. We decided on Chase. Our small town has 3 Chases one grade apart. They are known as the girl Chase, the boy Chase, and the Chase from Russia. So go for common names, since everyone is going for unique- Mark, Michael, Jonathan, Matthew, etc.
ReplyDeletecongrats! I also love Amelia for a girl...though Emma is a close second. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI have three boys too. They keep you busy don't they! I love the names Eden and Leah for a girl but I'll probably never get to use them.
ReplyDeleteHi from a fellow Moms Blog writer (I'm on the SV Moms Blog). I'm glad I joined your party...happy partying around the blogosphere, and hope you have time to drop my mine (I'm hosting a magazine giveaway!).
ReplyDeleteHi, nice to meet you. I have 3 boys and 2 girls, looks like you could be right behind me in kid amounts. Congrats on the new little one. I have a Noah also. I love Grace for a girl. Jillian is also one of my favorites. Good luck, name picking is hard!
ReplyDeleteI think you got a lot of great names. I will just add Isabella, because there's this great book coming out..... (okay, see through that shameless self-promotion), but anyway - this book is my new baby (after three the birth canal way) and you can find more about it (and me) over at my party...

Stopping in from the blog party. Congrats on "the bean in your belly". I'm an RN who works with Moms & babies and the Mom to 3 of my own little beans...
ReplyDeleteStop by & visit me ay http://anapronaday.blogspot.com
Hi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your newest 'little bean'.
We just had our third (a boy) in November. We have the hardest time with names. I LOVED Nicholas; he LOVED Brody (Broderick)and the name goes to...Carter (go figure). It fits him perfectly. So, Nicholas or Brody for a boy. If Carter had been of the pink variety the name would have been Audrey. Our girls are Sarah & Emma.
Have fun at the party.
Blessings,
Kim
Congratulations on the little bean!! Baby names??? Well I have a few girl names that I like...Summer or Mira or Beth.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Party!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new baby Stephanie! Happy blogging party :)
ReplyDeleteAs for baby names, I like to always put a spin on the names spelling that I pick.
I say Lukas, Jaesyn, or Maeson for boys or Bryanna, Adrianna, or Taryn for girls.
wow! sounds like you have a lot of great blogging goin' on...i'll have to come back when i have more time to peruse and read through some of your other blogs too. i'll be adding you to my bloglines.

I have a little on eon the way. It is due June 26th. We opted not to find out what dender it was. We have a couple names for boys, but not any for girls yet. Sorry I can't be of much help in the baby name department. I am wrestling over what we are going to choose!
ReplyDeletelove the pic. ;) Baby names were always hard to pick out, course we gave each three names and not counting the last name.
ReplyDeleteHi, just party-hopping and wanted to say hello. I'm afraid I won't be much help in the name department. We never had any rhyme or reason to our name picks. Just what we liked and both agreed upon! LOL
ReplyDeleteDrop in and say hello!
Hi! I'm visiting blogs for the party :-) I LOVE knitting and writing as well. I have not done anything with writing, other than blogging my thoughts out to the universe :-), and I have been toying with the idea of freelance writing.. I'm not sure how to get started however.
ReplyDeleteI'm recently finished knitting some baby leg warmers for my LO :-) I'll have to consider putting up pictures of my knitting projects because I really enjoyed looking at yours!
I love your boys' names... with names like those.. I'd think for another boy : Landon and for a girl : Cecile
:-)
Congrats!! I am expecting my first..and I don't know yet the sex..so I have picked out a girls and boys name...altho it isn't set in stone...I am only 15 weeks so I have alot of time to change my mind!! Ok...girl is Presley...and boy is Preston...and if its twins...well once I get over the shock..it will be Presley and Preston!!

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to find out what you are having---whether it be that you find out now or I have to wait until you deliver!! We have two boys and the name we've had picked out for a girl and haven't had the chance to use is: Morgan Rae
ReplyDeleteI love it!!
If you get a chance, pop on over to my place. I've got a little give away going on on my party post!!
Congrats on your new little bean! I am expecting #5 in August and just found out it'll be our 2nd boy! So, I am looking for name suggestions, too! I don't have any good boy ones at the moment, but some girl ones I like are: Charlotte, Lydia, and Julianna.
ReplyDeleteBlogs like your make me wish I had been able to wear my daughter especially now that she wants to be carried all the time at 3, lol!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice meeting you. I like Emma for a girl and Donald for a boy.
ReplyDeletecongrats!
