I Want My Hour Back

Daylight savings came early this year! Although I don't feel like I got to save anything except a little bit more baggage under my eyes. Why must the hour be taken away when we are SLEEPING? How about during the day, oh please I'd love to have a shorter day! But night, oh, I need all the hours of sleep I can get right now.

I am not totally sure how it works- which of you had to lose an hour last night or where the cut off in the US is or anything, and I am sure a quick google search would clear that right up, but I am too tired to even do that. Maybe if I had an extra minute of those 60 lost.

But, take heart! This now means we'll have an extra hour of daylight. I do know that much. And we'll have the feeling that spring is coming sooner, so that can't be all that bad (except for the fact that it is was snowing like a blizzard here last night.) That just doesn't scream spring to me, no matter how many hours you take away. But please- don't take any more. I'll make do for now. Carry on.

  3. Yeah... I gotta agree with drea. The boys slept good this morning. We totally missed church- we're sick too though- and just now moving! Ahhhhh! I love sleep!

  4. You have control over when to take that hour. Personally I changed all my clocks at 5:00 in the afternoon on Sat. That way I trained my brain to think it's already an hour later and thus I don't feel deprived of any sleep.

  6. We live in WA state and we set our clocks forward an hour. I think all states do, but I am not 100% on that!

  7. I went ahead and set my clocks up earlier in the evening, but it didn't really help. I still couldn't get up this morning! But I've been having a difficult time getting up in the mornings lately anyway, so I don't know if losing an hour was truly the problem! But I am looking forward to that extra hour of daylight in the evenings!

  10. Ha, your Google laziness cracked me up! =)

We usually change the clocks sometime in the afternoon. That seems to help us a bit. But this morning I was struggling to find my tweezers before hopping in the shower. Everything was a blur!

  11. We realized that we'd missed putting our clocks ahead when my husband ran to the grocery store and it was closed. EEP.

  12. Yes, I want my hour back too!

The only thing I like about daylight savings time is when we GAIN the hour in the fall . . .

  14. I agree. Taking away my hour was bad. I didn't sleep well to begin with and then taking away even more sleep. It was a long day today!

  15. Here in the UK, the clocks don't go forward till the end of the month and, even though it means Spring is coming, I'm not looking forward to losing that hour of sleep! I'm thinking it must be particularly hard if you have kids too young to understand.

  16. It's completely ridiculous how much this has thrown us off! Usually by this time I'm loving the California Spring air, and even last year I was there getting ready for C's wedding. This year? Bundled up in my own living room. Brrr.

  17. I LOVE the longer days, but it is going to take a while for me to recover from this. I COULD NOT get up this morning!

  18. I don't like anyone taking my sleep either! However, I do enjoy the longer days.

  19. I'm with you. Too tired to do much thinking at all. I even had one of my students fall asleep sitting up in class today. All through story time she slept. We all want our hour back!

  20. This is the first year that daylight savings has affected me and I think it is because my 6month old isn't adjusting as well. My four year old has never had a problem, but yesterday was brutal and today not much better. I hope to find that lost hour by next weekend to get back on track.
