Because I think we actually might have some good candidates for a boy and girl. And if someone steals it or announces they named their baby the very name that I think is the identity of the life inside me right now... I'd be so bummed. Um, that's an understatement.
The likelihood of getting both the first and middle names we have picked out is rare, but in Hollywood, I might not be surprised. And then you have all the Mommy Bloggers... and their bump watch. And what if they pick my name?
So of course I'm not telling here. Or anywhere. Or anyone. Not until this little one makes his or her appearance. At least that's my plan for now. I'll explain why later.
Here's my Pinks & Blues Blogger Bump Watch photo (thought I'd have a little fun with it)... 14 weeks today!

Mommy Blogger Stephanie from Adventures In Babywearing is caught out for a stroll with 2-year-old son Grayson today- her baby bump making a little bit of an appearance already- she is due sometime this September. She and husband Jeff have three boys and aren't sure the sex of the baby yet. They are keeping mum on the name. Her stroller is the new Phil & Ted's Vibe from Tots On The Go, a prized possession thanks to Pinks & Blues and mod*mom. Stephanie is wearing Gap Maternity V-neck T and Old Navy Maternity low-rise stretch roll-up pantsSee more of my belly shots here.
Thanks for "bumping" with us! You look so adorable... I'm so envious that you are in short sleeves and the sun is shining! Now you've got me all curious about baby names!
ReplyDeleteAnd what brand are your shoes? Your sunglasses? (Just kidding!)
ReplyDeleteI think it's fine to keep a baby name a secret. I don't mind if someone picks a name that I had in mind though, it's not like I am in some super rush to have a baby! :)
Jen
You are the funniest preggo out there!
ReplyDeleteAnd me too - can't believe you are wearing short sleeves out there! It was 28F this morning!
love the stroller! and u look sooo cute!
ReplyDeletehey celebrity blogger mom! looks likea comfy ride! you're preggy cute
ReplyDeleteWow you look fabulous. Short sleeves, no snow, out for a walk. And that stroller is really awesome.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't tell our baby names either. Mostly because we didn't want to hear anything negative. Nor did we want anyone trying to change our minds.
You're so cute. I'm posting mine tonight or in the morning!
ReplyDeleteI like keeping the name a secret for that very purpose! OR you coukd just name him/her something so unique no one would ever steal it like....oh...um....CARRINGTON! Don't laugh I have already had one baby girl named after me, and I am looking for anther! Oh, and my mom told me of a baby that was in the nursery at church the first time she took me in....HIS name was Carrington too! I'm just sayin'......
ReplyDeleteP.S. this is carrington on Ariannes computer and I dont feel like logging into my account!
Cute! I love your description and am totally jealous that you won the stroller. We are keeping our names a secret as well.
ReplyDeleteLook at you with your bump! I know the feeling about the name thing! I hope no one steals your names either.
ReplyDeleteHave you decided to let the sex be a surprise too?
Ok, this is me this time. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour bump is totally there! When did that happen, because I feel like I've barely noticed it lately. Are your names unique or are you having twins or something? What's with the cryptic? :)
Cute pictures and description. :) I don't blame you for keeping your names quiet. And if anyone else uses them, don't change your mind! If you love it, then it's your name to use!
ReplyDeleteThat was too cute! Love the bump!
ReplyDeleteLooking good there, Steph! Our last two didn't even have names until the day we left the hospital to take them home. Marissa was the only one we knew what we'd name her from the very beginning. That was so long ago I can't remember if we kept it a secret or not.
ReplyDeleteI think I might just get brave and do it. Except my bump is not so much a bump as a steep hill.
ReplyDeleteLove your caption on the pictures. You are too funny! And now I'm very curious about your names.
ReplyDeleteI had the same issue! We refused to tell *anyone* the names until after the babies were here. And I mean we didn't tell ANYONE. Not even our best friends or parents.
ReplyDeleteI love the name Grayson. My 3 yr old's middle name is Gray.
And your bump is too cute. I already looked like a whale at 14 weeks with my 2nd.
I agree completely with keeping the baby name secret-I actually have never and probably will never tell anyone the name I want to give a daughter someday, simply because I have two boys now and all my friends are having girls! How do you like the stroller? It looks really fun!
ReplyDeletelove the little bump! and what a cool stroller, congrats again.
ReplyDeleteCongrat!!!! looking great Mama!

ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty! And I know what you mean - Matilda and Violet are some of our favorite names and now, thanks to celebrities, they're RUINED.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a hard time finding the "bump" you skinny little thing, but I love the shoes!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. It's one thing if someone uses a name I love, and I know there was nothing I could about it and it was just bad luck. It's another thing if I share the name and then feel like they stole it. I have my heart set on a girl's name, and don't plan on sharing it until after delivery (IF it's a girl) but I have to say... of all the pregnant people I know right now, I am actually due first! Just one little hint... I love old fashioned names. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou know Steph, if you announce the names you're considering, now, then anyone in Hollywood who comes up with the same name could be accused of copying you!
ReplyDeleteJust a thought. :-)
Finally, I see a belly! =)
ReplyDeleteI lived off of maternity clothes from Old Navy and Gap!
ahh! I hate hearing that someone took my baby name! I had a name picked out during my last pregnancy for a boy if I had one and my SIL took it :( pissed me right off! Just because I had a girl didn't mean I wasn't maybe planning on using it with the next baby. No one is knowing this babies name until it comes out this time! I must steal a digi cam and post my bump (it's hideously big already! lol. too much junk)
ReplyDeleteNames already? Whoa! You're way ahead of me!
ReplyDeleteLookin' cute girl! Love your new accessory (aka stroller!)
ReplyDeleteI love the pics and your description. you look great!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWe kept baby #1 name a secret because we were afraid people would steal it, but decided #2 should be shared to lay claim on it. Both times we didn't have anyone use our names, even though I had a number of friends and cousins that were preggo at the same time...
See, you can tell me because I am all done having babies and there is no way I can steal your baby names. It would be our little secret. That way you can tell your one person that won't tell anyone else. And us Stephanie's are GREAT at keeping secrets. I'm just sayin'!
ReplyDeleteYour funny!
ReplyDeleteAhhh!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the stroller!!!
xoxoxo,
Audrey
*smirk* Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteAt postpartum breastfeeding class (basically an excuse for bfing moms to sit around and talk), I met a little boy with the same name as LittleBrother who was born exactly one month earlier. Thankfully they will attend different schools. And even more small world, the kid's Dad went to school with FireDad. Crazy.
I hear you on the name hush hush! But the flip side of me wants to rush & announce our name pick so we can prove we had it first. ;) neurotic & territorial much? Me? Nah!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous, hun! So exciting to watch you bloom!!
I like your paparazzi description beneath your picture. I did something similar in November, lol! Here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sophistishe/2094503008
ReplyDeleteWe're keeping our bun's middle name a secret until he arrives, we couldn't help but blab his first!
I see your bump is still M.I.A! But I have a feeling that when you least expect it, it's gonna go KAPAYOW!

Ah, a loose shirt. That's what I should have done...
ReplyDeleteI haven't been by in a while, but I always love your blog.
ReplyDeleteThis post was hilarious! So true and funny.
