For Eyes

Everything went so smoothly yesterday with Noah's eye consult. I am so thankful that I felt well all morning and had lots of energy to get through the day. God really showed His mercy as I could have and should have spent more time in prayer about our appointment and situation, but still He is so good. Not much is required of us, you know?

Originally this appointment should have been where Noah would be measured for the eye surgery, but since his last visit, his vision has changed and he now needs glasses. After 3 months his doctor will be able to get the proper measurements for the surgery. I don't mind a little extra time, I'll admit! He did wear glasses once before, but for different reasons. And he's actually excited about wearing them- so that is a blessing. We just have to go pick out a pair now!

And in the meantime- uh, wow- I came home to a kajillion emails thanks to the giveaway. I am a little perturbed at Target right now because I needed to get Carter some new gloves and they don't carry them anymore because- in the retail world- it's spring. This doesn't make ANY sense to me considering we have at least 2 more months of winter here. Today especially.

  3. Glad to hear Steph...and yeah, on the Target note, I remember that happening to me last year and maybe even the year before. I've since learned to buy like 3-4 hats, gloves and scarves each season because I know full well by January there will be no more & bathing suits will be out in full force. Good luck.

  8. A constant argument I've emailed various times to Target and WAlmart regarding their winter wear. I mean, COME ON!! What kid doesn't lose a mitten or hat in the winter? What mom doesn't need a restock every year? Kills me...

  9. Ya, it is really frustrating when you need winter things in January or February and all the stores are already carring shorts.

I am glad you had a good visit with the doctor. Can't wait to see him in his new glasses!

  10. Glad to hear that everything went well yesterday at the eye doctor!

Stay warm tonight - man, it's a blizzard out there! :)

  11. Ah, but its time to head south for the warmer weather, right?

Glad everything went well with the eye doc...word of advice? Head to the better eye places that offer insurance on glasses. AJ is a master at bending and breaking his but if they offer free replacements we are in good shape.

    And, stay warm. -30 tonight!

  12. Hooray for unexpected energy and a good appointment. Noah is such a strong little boy. I'm happy for all of you that glasses will do the trick for a few more months. Hope you're starting to feel better. Praying for you.

  13. I think my dad might have bought the last winter hat (Batman) and gloves (Star Wars . . . go figure) from Target for Addison this past weekend. But my dad would also let you in on a little Target secret: when they pull stuff off the rack, they pass it on to Goodwill. So you should still be able to find plenty of Target winter styles at your friendly neighborhood Goodwill. Yeah . . . Target shopping tips from two straight guys.

So glad everything went well with Noah, can't wait to see his glasses! We're up Thursday!

  15. I was at Target last night for slippers for Charlie and they had NONE. I was very perturbed, to say the least. Coming home whining and moaning is more like it...

    P.S. I LOVE that verse!

  18. Your friend Adam is so funny! His comments crack me up.
They had gloves at Kohl's this last weekend. I bought the girls some. Yeah, they out to just look outside (it's 0 right now.) Spring is not here yet!

  20. Yeah for a great doctor appointment! That is great news.
And yes, the stores make me so mad! I want to get the boys some more warm pajamas (they are growing so fast!) but all the stores have gotten ride of them already. Bah!!! It is still January, people!!

  21. I'm so glad it went well. I hate it when the stores jump the gun so bad with holidays/seasons. It's frustrating and makes it harder on their customers.

  22. God always gives us what we need! Who knows, maybe after the 3 months Noah won't even need surgery.

  25. I feel the same frustrations as you about retail, but in reverse. Here (in Texas) they put sweaters and things out in August and it's not even cold here then!
