I've Been Cranky

I don't know how much longer I can blame it on hormones, but if I were Santa I'd be leaving a big lump of coal in my stocking this year. I haven't had the best of attitudes lately. I feel downright crotchety sometimes. Extra irritable. Daydreaming about hiding from my kids and anyone needing something from me. You know, the usual. (Right?)

I'm feeling extra guilty about it lately because my husband should be Hubby Of The Year and he has me for a wife. Or maybe that is why he should be Hubby Of The Year- because he has me for his wife. Oh I don't know who else could put up with me!

This weekend was extra crabby for me and he made everything as easy for me as possible. He washed the dishes every single time there was a dirty plate or cup in the sink. He let me escape for hours on Saturday and Sunday. And still I couldn't get over my cantankerous self.

Well, it's Monday. A good day to start fresh. I've promised to take my St. John's Wort again and just get over myself already. I'm married to the Hubby Of The Year after all. And I need to show up and make something of my title as the honorable wife of Hubby Of The Year. He deserves it. And so do I.

  1. Oh, I totally get where you are coming from sweetie...for some reason this year, I just can't bring myself to get into the Christmas spirit. Last year at this time, I couldn't wait to bake and wrap presents....but this year, I just want it to be December 26th so I can move on. I am having a hard time as well!

But, I am having another Baby Legs giveaway--that should cheer you up! :)

  2. I love that picture! Such a cute couple....as far as the crankiness goes, here lately I'll have a day of that... I want to avoid anyone or anything that needs my attention. I don't know why or what it is...Maybe it is just hormones! Not sure! But yes, Monday is a new day! The Lord can renew our zest for life!!! I pray that the Lord will give you encouragement and love! :)

  4. How are your iron levels? Whenever I get crabby and worn out, it's time for me to get those checked.

  5. mmm. St. John's can work some magic. Not like you haven't had that vicious cycle of sick kids though. That takes it's toll! I say cut yourself some slack, we'll whip you into shape on Thursday if you still need it!

Dishes and solo daddy duty definitely make for Hubby of the year material!

  6. I've been feeling the same way lately. With money stress, family issues, business stuff...well, it's all getting to me. I know how you feel. And it's a horrible feeling!

Your hubby is a great man and you're a great woman. We all go through rough times...

My poor hubby had this http://casualfridayeveryday.com/2007/12/10/my-poor-poor-hubby/ on top of everything else in our lives right now.

    HUGS to you, Mama!

  9. We are all allowed to have down periods. I also have a Husband of the Year award winner. He has been helping me so much more lately with vacuuming, dishes, and child-wrangling. It is great to have such a supportive mate!

(I'm sure you are wonderful most of the time- you seem so energetic and joyful in your blog posts!)

  18. So now would be a bad time to ask if you could get me a sandwich and make sure my favorite pants are washed and ready by tomorrow--and could you pick up some baggies at the store because I ran out?

Kidding. Hope it gets easier soon--it's a tough job and it's good that you've got a man who supports you so well.

  20. I hope you're feeling less crabby!

I've been that way, too, lately.
I've enver tried st. John's Wort. Is that safe while nursing? Hmmm. Maybe I should pick some up.

Hang in there. I'll say a prayer for you!

  21. At the risk of adding unnecessary advise - With as busy as you are, you may not be getting enough sleep and making sure you're hydrated with enough water? It's funny how these simple things helps me a lot.

Christmas should be a pleasant time, so cut back on what you have to, to make it enjoyable for everyone. Like the old saying "If mama ain't happy, ain't no body happy"

(((HUGS)))! I think we all go through those days and I feel the same way I can't shake it most times. My beauty pearl from Sunrider helps a lot but it is expensive. I am going to have to check out the St. John's Wort.

Second...I am glad I am not alone in my crabbiness...not that I want anyone else to go through it, but at least we are not alone.

Third...and this is what I keep telling myself...This too shall pass.
