Breastfeeding... Extended

  3. What an awesome post! I think I echo everything you said on a daily basis. Did I think at two X would be nursing like a newborn? No. Do I still love it? Yes! Long live Nonny and Boo! ;)

...off to read the other posts.

  4. GREAT post! My landen nursed till 21 months. I had no problem with him nursing for longer, my due date with my second was fast approaching though. I'm an exclusive breastfeeder (ecological). It's the best for your children. Thanks for posting.
    We call ours "nursie, nursie".

  8. I love it, Stephanie. I weaned Ella abruptly at 25 months during the hectic travel we were doing when we lost Hannah this summer. We were both so sad about it. She is still asking to nurse and she still remembers the comfort she got from it. I think extended nursing is a relationship that no one can understand unless they have experienced it. It is so frustrating when people suggest the mom is forcing it for her own personal emotional needs.

Congrats to both of you! And I hear you on wanting to burn the nursing bras. :-)

  9. I tried to leave this comment over there, but it kept telling me I was spam. I am not spam! Gosh, darn it! Anyway...

Thanks for sharing your story. I have been needing some encouragement. I want to go past one year but have hit a rough patch now that my baby is 9 months. (teeth!) Also, I have started worrying about what other people think. Thanks for reminding me that that should be the last of my worries. Exactly what I needed to hear today!

  10. I say don't listen to other people. You do what is best for you and baby. Only you can make that decision.

  11. great post. I nursed my first for only 6 months before I got horribly sick with the stomach flu and basically dried up on the spot. My second one now I've been nursing for 5 months and I'm scared something is going to happen like last time. My goal is 12 months right now...

    you give me inspiration. Thanks.

  12. I think it's lovely that Gray still loves his Boo! It's all about what works best for you and your baby!

Now, if you're telling us in 20 years that Gray still wants his Boo, I'll start to wonder... ;)

    Enjoy it while you can!!
