I think ours will be going up on Saturday! We have a christmas concert to go to (Point of Grace)to ring in the holiday spirit on friday so I may just break out all the fun stuff the next day!
I haven't put our tree up yet, which is NOT like me. I'm normally a day after Thanksgiving sorta gal, but this year I worked that day, and well, all the days just keep coming too fast. Tonight. Tonight I will make Monte get my tree out of the attic and it's going up tomorrow. Think there's any chance Carter will keep his hands off it?! Yeah, I don't think so either.
If a "mess up" shot turns out lovely then it is no longer a "mess up" shot but is a fortunate happenstance. You could say you planned it that way. I fact I thought you had a great technique to capture the effect of the tree rather than the actual tree. Try putting on lots of Christmas Carols (the old fashioned kind) and bake Christmas cookies (the unhealthy kind) to get in the Christmas mood. Make sugar cookies and let the boys decorate with colored sugars or "paint" them with evaporated milk. Terry used to love to do that. Messy? Yes! Memorable? Yes!
I'm still trying to find time to drag mine out of the carport! If it's not up before the first it seems I no sooner get it decorated than I have to take it down again!
I know, I know, do not adjust your screen or rub your eyes. I just thought this "mess up" shot was actually quite lovely.
