November 15, 2007

I caught just a bit of the Ellen show this afternoon and they were featuring a woman named Janice with some unusual animals on her farm.

What brought tears to my eyes was a zebra named Zebiscuit that she rescued. He had a seizure disorder and she treated him with alternative treatments, herbs, and diet, and he's never had another seizure! Just like my Noah!

  1. I watched that too and I almost called you!!!

  2. I am trying to make my way to all my NaBlo friends' blogs before November is over.

I cry at all those kinds of stories, and my daughter hasn't had a seizure in more than three years. You think I'd be past it by now.

Have fun the rest of the month!

  3. Isn't it amazing how close the lives of animals and the lives of humans are so inter-twined, yet the lives of animals are so many times thought of as useless and not worthy? A woman like this earns all of the respect I could possibly give her. She could have easily chosen another easier, less complicated and demanding path in life, but she chose the selfless, caring and compassionate role of an animal rescuer. I applaud her immensely.

(I still feel funny saying things like this...but) God sure knew what he was doing when he created all this stuff!

  4. Such a sweet story. And I didn't think Gray could look any sweeter, til now.

  5. Wow! even changing an animals diet works, that is amazing.

  6. I was reading about this and was curious to know what herbs you use. My 5 years old has seizures. He only has them when he has a temp. go up fast. The call them febrel seizures and said he would prolly gro out of it before he's 4. He still has them and we have to keep an eye on him all the time. They said the more he has the more likely he is to become epileptic. I thought you could give me some ideas! Thanks Jess:)

  7. I can't wait to watch it, sounds so sweet.

Your comment is gonna totally make my day!
