Learn how to do the "Mama Sway" while applying your mascara!! LoL. As a mother of a newborn that absolutely LOVES to be held, I know how hard it is to try to get things done. Putting yourself together is one area where mamas slack off, because it's just too hard. I'm a firm believer that in order to feel better about yourself, you must get your makeup on!! This is not an easy task with a baby! Oh, it's not enough that my baby is being held, he has to be held by me! So, I throw him in a carrier, usually a wrap or a ring sling, and start swaying. He loves the closeness of mama, he loves the motion, and I'm able to get ready!! When baby is happy, everyone is happy! Next on the agenda? Learning how to apply eyeliner while doing the sway! Thats awesome! You get so used to doing the sway that often times when I'm holding the little one any adults near me will start doing the sway too! We all get so used to it..I think its so funny when I'm bouncing a babe and the near adults start bouncing. Its just funny!! We all get a giggle out of that one.

ReplyDeleteMy youngest is 7 so I haven't been around many babies in several years. I recently got ahold of a newborn and was surprised to find myself doing the butt pat and sway. I caught myself and wondered where *that* came from? I guess its instictive.

ReplyDeleteYou know what -- I never thought about doing this! Now, of course, it's too late. But I keep an "empty" brush around and a spray bottle of water to entertain Fly while I do makeup.
