So, I have always wanted to be on The Wheel of Fortune. Who wouldn't? You can come in last place and still walk away with cash & prizes! When I heard there was a contestant search coming to the area, I had to go. It wouldn't be right if I didn't at least try.I was forewarned about what to expect, and had once tried out for Jeopardy years ago, so I had a rough idea of how things would work. The Rosemont Theatre was filled with hopefuls, and all the applications were drawn at random to see who would come up on stage to play a quick game. They would call five people up at a time and then once a puzzle was solved, another five people were brought up. They won exciting prizes like a Wheel of Fortune hat, fanny pack, or duffel bag. Once someone even won a light-up pen!
You really wanted your name to be called so that they could see your likeable personality and hopefully they'd choose you to be a contestant for the real show. But, if you didn't get to go on stage, they promised to still choose from all the applications. So there is hope for this Mommy Blogger from Indiana.
That's what I'm banking on, since my name wasn't called. The Wheel will be taping in Chicago next March and I really hope I get to be a part of it! I still had fun, and am happy that I made the effort. I'll just have to get my fanny pack elsewhere.
Aww, that's too bad. My name wasn't called either, but I ended up recognizing some of the people who auditioned when they made the show!
ReplyDeleteI auditioned for "21" several years ago, and made it as far as taping a mock show. Then it got cancelled. But one of the women who auditioned with me (also named Gretchen) made it on the show and won $310,000.
Wow, and I thought I was the only one who dreamed to be on Wheel of Fortune. I play at home against those contestants all the time......and beat them! I got the email that they were coming to Rosemont but lack of babysitter and an extra kid this week didn't make it possible for me to go!
ReplyDeletei'm totally picturing you in your fanny pic, and laughing hysterically.
ReplyDeletei hope you still get contacted!!!
Aw! I'm sure they would have picked you if you had the chance to go up there. There is still hope!
ReplyDeleteThere's still hope. You may be spinning and solving and buying vowels before you know it! :)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun!!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! I hope you get invited to Chicago!
ReplyDeleteCool! What a fun experience!
ReplyDeleteBecause fanny packs are so stylish...right?
ReplyDeleteHow fun for you!
how fun, I hope they look at your application and decide that you are a GREAT fit for a contestant. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
ReplyDeleteHow neat that you got to experience the tryouts; too bad your name wasn't called! Maybe you'll still get a call between now and March!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby tried out for Deal or no Deal.....he camped out in a thunderstorm in a one man tent with a small radio......he was #52 in line of 10,000 people....he didnt make it....although he said he would do it again.....sorry you didnt get to show them some real talent.
ReplyDeleteI still wish my husband would have tried out. I didn't realize that's how the auditions would be though.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that you get on the wheel though.. that'd be so cool.
By the way.. I LOVE your hair... it's so cute. Is it thin? What kind of style is that? Cute!
OH! SO bummed you didn't get a chance to "play". Well, here's hoping you'll still get a call!!
ReplyDeleteI have high hopes you will get picked...Can I go with to be your cheering section?
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was STILL a fun day. And maybe not having a fanny pack is just as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope they pick your name. It was a fun experience anyway right?!?
ReplyDeleteJust being there must have been fun and exciting.I have to say, though, if I won a fanny pack, I'd be doing a giveaway over at my place, fast! If even one person entered, I'd be off the hook. LOL
ReplyDeleteWell, you never know! Luck may be on your side!
ReplyDeleteAww, rats.. I was hoping you would get on there. Well, it's not over yet.
ReplyDeleteSmiles and hugs
I hope you get a call, that would be so much fun for you.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should do a bloggy campaign to get them to pick you! LOL Or all the bloggy readers could write in and request our famous bloggy friend be picked.
ReplyDeleteThat stinks that you did not get to play but GOOD LUCK! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I hope they pull our amazing application soon!
ReplyDeleteBTW you looked wonderful!
I hope that they call you based on the application! How fun! =)
ReplyDeleteI'm so naive: I honestly didn't know that shows like this required auditions. I just figured you raised your hand in the studio audience at the time of taping and they called you up.
ReplyDeleteI hope you make it on still!
I'll still keep my fingers crossed for you!
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK MAMMA!!!
ReplyDeleteHope it goes well...my Hubby would totally make me go audition if they taped here...it's still my favorite game show!
