I feel so much better. The cake is already cooling and now the cupcakes are baking. It’s quiet here (naptime for the birthday boy) and I feel alive. Not too tired. Just right.
Yesterday one of my favorite instructional Bible verses kept playing over and over in my mind. I felt overwhelmed with too much on my plate… Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths- Proverbs 3:5-6. I would say aloud, Lord, direct my path, like, a hundred times yesterday. When I was moving about the kitchen, lying down to rest, when my thoughts (my own understanding) were trying to take over, I’d say, Lord, please direct the next thing I do.
And I’ve continued to do this today. It’s really helping me get things in order.
I finally went and picked up my finished little gnome. Remember him? He’s cheered up my kitchen and watched over all the baking going on today. It’s just right.
Oh I love that verse so much myself. Although I find it quite a challenge not to lean on my own understanding.
