The pendulum swings and lately I am back into reading books more than I am into reading blogs. The downside is that I get a bit behind in blogland, but the upside is that I tend to become a more creative thinker and better writer...
My latest read was The Other Mother by Gwendolen Gross. This novel is an invitation for a raw look into the lives of two very different mothers- one working and one stay-at-home. You will find yourself saying I know that Mother or maybe even I am that Mother! If you have a book club (and I think I need to start one), this would be an excellent selection. If you just need a good book to escape into, I highly recommend it for that, too.

I read a very little interview with Jessica somewhere and she is very funny! I will try to tune in to Oprah - thanks for the head's up.
I'm flipping through Raising Amazing Kids the Montessori way since I am considering a Montessori school for my children. It is very interesting and provides some great suggestions for incorporating the Montessori philosophy at home.
These look great. I'm adding the first one to my book list right away.
I'm in the middle of 3 book reviews right now. One is Amy Grant's Mosaic, and then a couple of Christian novels. I've even got a couple of extra copies for give-aways mid-October.
I was just looking for something to read the other night. It been a while since I've picked up a book and sat down to read. I read my health magazine all the time but I'm craving a good book read.

I just heard about that cookbook somewhere, and it sounds perfect for picky toddlers!
Right now, not reading much, but my small group is thinking of starting a book club for just us girls. Our pick is Redeeming Love. Hopefully I'll have time to read it with the new baby coming!

I have 2 pregnant friends, so I think the Mama Knows Breast book just might be something I'll be buying for them...I liked the reviews and excerpt I saw.

I am a big reader, and am about to jump into a Randy Alcorn book called 'Dominion' tomorrow for my fiction-fix. I recently started 'Holy Discontent' by Bill Hybels. I love to read, and enjoy seeing my kids lose themselves in a good book too! I will definitely check out that first book.
I love to read, always have, but it's hard when you have a little one, so I haven't read that much since Carter was born. I actually just recently (last month or so) have read a few books. Oh, and count me in on that book club....

Steph, you should add a book list from Library Thing to your blog sidebar- I love to see other blogger's book lists because I get such great ideas! Two books that I've found on Amanda's blog at The Rowdy Pea are "Healthy Cooking for Kids" by Shelly Null and Homemaking As a Social Art by Veronika van Duin. The cookbook is AMAZING and just stuffed with recipes that are easy, super nutritious, tasty and welcome little hands in the preparation. The homemaking book seems very far removed from something I would be interested in but the fact of the matter is that I am a homemaker and I want to create a safe, comforting, special place for my family. I never would have found either book without a blog rec and I am so excited that you recommended some great titles- I am checking out the bfing book for sure!
I am also reading Animal, Vegetable, Mineral by Barbara Kingsolver and The Not So Big Life: Making Room For What Really Matters by Sarah Susanka.
Steph, you could also start a book club via the blog. My two best friends and I have a tiny three person book and recipe group going and each month we choose to all read the same book (we rotate who chooses) and we all make the same recipes for a meal. It has been really fun and keeps us connected in a special way since we are all at a very different place in our lives. I'm sure you would get a lot of interest. It could be as simple as choosing a book and setting a read by date and then posting questions on your blog on that date that other bloggers would answer about the book on their own blogs. I would love to join in something like that!

I missed the Jessica Seinfeld interview on Oprah, and I'm so glad you mentioned this book. I've been desperate to get Lil' Bug eating better foods, and this looks like the ticket!
I've been reading a lot more too! I plan on getting that Jessica Seinfeld book as I have an extremely picky eater.
I just finished "Momzillas" which is a nice easy, fun read. Also "Mr. Darcy's Diary" which is from Mr. Darcy's point of view of the Jane Austen's book "Pride and Prejudice".

I read a little bit about Jessica Seinfelds book in Readers Digest and wanted to get it, so I got it last night and read the whole thing and can't wait to start trying some of the recipes! They seem pretty doable. If only I hadn't just spent most of our grocery money for the first half of the month...
I am reading a Jodi Picoult book, The Tenth Circle and I just finished Pride and Prejudice. I love books!
The Jessica Seinfeld book is on my list of books to get. The breastfeeding book looks good too. We are avid readers in our house, even the kids. I am awaiting a shipment from Amazon right now.
I just love a good book! I am going to go out and get that first book. I am the working mom and think i am a much better mom because of this, but I enjoy reading about stay at home mom's too.
