Our town had a huge festival yesterday and we walked in the parade. The boys had so much fun passing out candy (and eating it to my dismay.) I think Gray was scarfing some Smarties in this picture actually.
At one point I wore Gray in the mei tai and a massive paper carrier's bag full of candy slung across my shoulders while I pushed another huge bag of candy in the stroller with Carter attached on the Strolli (stay tuned for the review on that at Mama Speaks... it rocks).

Just as the parade route began, I hit a man right in the stomach with a fistful of candy. I was so embarassed and explained it was my first throw... he didn't care. He just wanted candy.
To say I am a bit worn out is an understatement. Oh, and most of our town is hilly... walking a mile uphill like that... I deserve some props, people!

ReplyDeleteMy arms are so sore from throwing candy and my whole body feels like I had a hard workout but it was so much fun..can't wait til next year...I'm just glad I still have it at my age. I was so proud of Noah for all his hard work in passing out Candy.
ReplyDeleteProps are definitely in order. Sounds like fun, and that's a great picture.
ReplyDeleteAh "that festival"! We missed it this year, but I know you guys have enjoyed walking it every year with Jeff employer. This year sounded like an adventure! And what is this thing called Strolli? I can see Carter on something....
ReplyDeleteLori
Sounds like a good time (and a lot of work on your part)!
ReplyDeleteI always loved that festival! I wish I would have remembered that it was this weekend- it's always the second Sat of Sept? We were looking for something fun like that. Funny story about hitting the guys with candy! Ha!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun. That man in the stomach is a stitch! Is the strolli a bike attachment to a stroller? We have a Buggy Board that we loved when Justin was a toddler and Evan was a baby, but I can't find the stroller handlebar attachments anywhere...
ReplyDeleteOh I want one of those Strolli's SO STINKIN BAD!!! You are a power mamma!
ReplyDeleteWe love parades too......something about them.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! Kudos to your for all that activity...my day consisted of laying on the couch and reading some books.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love that that guy didn't care about being beaned by a bag of candy! Great photos, too!

ReplyDeleteOh man! I miss that festival too! Two years ago on Sat. Zachary and I were released from the hospital! Then this Sat was his B-day. When my SIL called and said she was at the festival, it made his b-day seem even more real!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, kudos to you for walking, carrying a baby and throwing candy! I bet your feet are hurting still. BTW-I think I have the same hair color as you now. I was jsut noticing in your pic. I did mine at home. LOL!
