The blogger meetup on Saturday was so much fun and I am sure it would have been even better if I hadn't been blowing my nose the whole time. I just started coming down with a cold right before we were to meet, and as everyone ate their yummy Don Pablo's entrees, I sipped soup. It felt better on my throat. And then I had some fried ice cream (testing the food allergy boundaries with success lately!) And of course that felt better on my throat, too!
All of these great bloggy gals are just a hoot. Time totally flew by and I couldn't believe that I'd been there for four hours. It seemed like 20 minutes! My nose grew redder and my fever became muy caliente as the night went on, and it wasn't from my drink of ice water & lemon. I thought I better get home while I was still able- the cold was coming on fast. I just wanted to go to sleep. But, those crazy girls stayed way late and I hear some didn't get home until midnight!
Beth & Crooked Eyebrow took a ton of pics, although because I was in a fog, I forgot my camera at home! It was so fun. I am still seeing flashes. So are the people at the other tables around us. At one point Beth asked us all to show our "mean mom face." Here's mine- but the thing is, I don't have a mean mom face. I wrote about this before. You can probably tell that my bottom lip is about to break into a smile and then I totally start laughing.
I am recovering nicely this weekend. I stayed in bed all day yesterday. And although I dream about being able to stay in bed all day, it is not fun when you are sick. I am so thankful that hubby has today off, too. As I type, he is drying the last of the mountain of dishes that he just washed to surprise me. I probably should get a shower or something and try to look less like a zombie (uh, kinda like that freaky picture above)...

What AWFUL timing to get sick! It's nice that you got to at least say hi, though. Get better!

ReplyDeleteThink that you would all like to meet for a couple of hours in the airport come the beginning of December? (insert smile and wink here). There is a chance that I will be hanging there with my kids for a couple of hours on a layover.

ReplyDeleteI have no problem giving the mean mom look! haha, even our youth group kids used to say I gave them "the evil eye," when I was upset with them. haha. You look too cute in that picture trying to look mean!!!
