Babywearing Tip of the Week: Real Men Wear Babies

Tamara from Changing More Than Diapers... asks: Do Dads wear babies?

I know Dads that wear their babies. My hubby still wears Gray and I am required to make sure the mei tai is handy whenever I leave Gray with Daddy. The other night Ashlee & I escaped for about an hour to run some errands and squeeze in a little Starbucks. When I got home, Jeff was wearing a zonked out Gray.

    I don't think mine was ever that tiny. LOL

    My DH likes the MT. He says, "OK strap him to my back." He's confident to put him on with out me, but he likes wearing him while he does stuff around the house.

  17. I wasn't expecting that guy to pick up such a small baby!! How cute! My hubby has only worn theBeast a couple times that I can remember...it's mostly me doing the babywearing. I love that pic of Grey snoozing away!

    And that video is so precious. I loved the little baby noises, and when the daddy picked up the baby and kissed him/her... what a sweet moment!

    My husband wore our babies (and still does) more than me! My back always hurts.

    He wore them in front carriers as infants, and now he loves to put Beatrix in our Kelty backpack when we go out and about. She loves it too.

  25. What a great photo and video! Jeff wore Emma a few times when she was a baby, before we even knew what it was all about. I know he'll be happy to wear this one -- especially now that we know how fast that cuddly stage can go by!

    makes me wonder what it's like to have a baby so small. mine were 8 and 9 1/2 lbs respectively.

    jody wore ava more than he does julian, but i agree, real men wear babies. :)

    My husband wore the babies too.

    I think there is only one thing better to a Dad wearing a baby is a Dad wearing a baby AND vacuuming at the same time :)

    Dh would wear our babies... he liked he black Maya wrap because it wasn't so girly.

  37. As hands on as my husband is, he only wore Cricket a handful of times. Well my husband isn't the smallest of men and he said he didn't like all of his OWN weight he had to lug around.

    I remember that photo of your husband vacuuming with the MT - I don't think there is a sexier sight!

  38. My hubby loves it when I leave my ergo available for him to wear. I got it with him in mind. He said he would wear our little ones if he didn't feel to sissyfied. Now, since Gret doesn't like to be without mommy (uugh) he will wear her around to comfort her while I am gone. It's proven to be a real life saver for us.
