I decide to call again and the person answers "Blippitybloppity911?" (that's what it really sounded like to me) and I say "Is this the yarn shop?" and they say "This is Blippitybloppity911" really fast and again- I am confused.
"I'm looking for a knitting store. Are you in Colorado?" And she says "This is the police in (my town), Indiana." I say, "Oh weird! I'm from (my town), Indiana!" Then she says "Is everything ok there?" and now I realize that maybe this person thinks I am being held hostage and trying to disguise it by saying I am calling a yarn shop.
Sooo, I explain that I don't know that happened- I even looked at my phone where it shows the number I dialed and it was the full number for Woolen Treasures. No idea how 911 got called. But, she had to send an officer out anyway just in case.
There I am waiting by the front door, no shower yet that day, with three little spectators peering out, for an officer to come. I explain the situation again and all is well. Much to the boys' dismay, there were no flashing lights and his car was even un-marked. But still, they are now going to be police officers when they grow up and thought it was the coolest thing yet to happen all summer.
