According to this article, a stay-at-home mom's work is worth $138,095 a year! That is up 3% from last year. Way to go, girls! And if you are a full-time working mom, you would earn an additional $85,939 for the work you do at home.

That last figure seems kinda low to me, honestly, but it's according to Salary.com.
I know we all feel we're worth way more than that on certain days! And yes, most of us wouldn't accept any amount for being a mom. It's priceless.
Dare to bare! The Bloggers Without Makeup contest is still going on!

WooHoo!! I'm rich!!!
ReplyDelete:)
Wonder if the bosses (the kids!) appreciate me!
I'd glady accept the money! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI commend all of you for your hard work!
ReplyDeletethanks for signing up for the scavenger hunt...we are having a blast
Send me my check!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean, we wouldn't accept the $$??? You so crazy.
ReplyDeleteMy husband who works full time says my job is much harder than anything he's ever done, and although he loves his kids to death, he could never do it.
ReplyDeleteSo i'll take my share of that much earned paycheck!
wouldnt that be nice lol...
ReplyDeleteI think it should be more 2.. hello I was working last night doing laundry until 8pm! So I worked from 7am-8pm... thats a lot of hours :-)
Like Doctor hours!
I got a PhT from seminary..
"Putting Honey Through" degree ;-) no seriously I have an actual certif. that they gave me when my husband graduated w/ his masters degree LOL.
I'm a full time nanny right now so I can really identify... not fully, but almost. hoping for my own soon, maybe I'll get a "raise"! :) I love your blog, Steph!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if $138 seems low or high. Sometimes I feel like I should be getting paid double. Other times I'd pay someone else to be a sahm!
ReplyDeleteSomeone mentioned this today at work, and the receptionist said Does that mean their going to start taxing us on it to?
ReplyDeleteMan, getting all that money to stay home and do nothing ;) Wow we are lucky!
ReplyDeleteAnd think I was working 9-5 as a QA Analyst for less than half that.
Being a mother IS priceless, however if someone offered to pay me, I'd take it.
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely take the money if it was available, but I still think that's kinda low. We're CEOs of our households for goodness sake!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the benefits make it worth it all... one smile is all it takes for me to work this 24-7 job! :o)
Now if only we can pocket that to help pay for bills and so on
ReplyDeleteI think it is low too, I mean most men work 40 - 80 hours a week. And even when our kiddos go to sleep, we are still on call! What other job has so many on call hours as we do?!
ReplyDeleteWhere's my money? I WANT TO GET PAID!
ReplyDeleteI heard this on my way to work, I turn to my husband and said, so add my wages from my job - Wow, we are rich!! To bad we really don't get paid, like you said Steph I don't mind working for free.
ReplyDeleteOh man...if only!
ReplyDeleteWow, I have never seen that before. Seems a little on the cheap side, especially when it comes to the poop department. I would love a check....I ain't too proud for the money. A girls got to get paid!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I think it's funny that just about everything we do can be paid for...except that special connection with our kiddos!!!!
ReplyDeleteI posted a link to this story today, too... Gotta love it!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think that one can't really put a price on what we do!
I'll be eagerly waiting by the mailbox!!!
ReplyDeleteHA! I´m rich, too. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this - I came via Amy´s Scavenger Hunt searching for an interesting post! Ta-daaaa! Here it is =)
Man, if only that translated into real funds!
ReplyDeleteAnd bloggers without makeup? Take a look at my profile pic. Not a spec on me. :-)

I wish I made that kind of money! Maybe in my next life, huh! I tagged you! Come by and play a meme if you wanna!
ReplyDeleteOk, I am sure the checks are in the mail. Right?! Wouldn't that be nice. Even if we only received it for one year.
ReplyDeleteI love how this always comes out right before Mother's Day. Kinda like a kick in the gut for me. Hey, here's what you're worth, na..na...na..na... but you can't really have it. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'd take a check though. No shame here.
Guess I better stay at home now!!! LOL. Great post. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteTAG, you are it! Check out my blog for info and I hope you don't mind!
ReplyDelete:o)
I think my check's lost in the mail! Those little huggs and kisses are payment enough.
ReplyDeleteI'm a stay-at-home dad. Do you think I'm also worth that much, given that my cooking is limited to about 3 recipes and that shirt I put in the laundry turn whiter than white (although they used to be colored)?
