Shoes Shoes Shoes

Did I ever tell you that in middle school an annoying boy gave me the nickname "Shoes" because I had so many different pairs of shoes? The stranger and more unusual the better. I just loved shoes. Even way back then.

Did I also tell you that I wore my Dr. Martens to prom? There has to be a picture of that somewhere...

I had some inquiries about the cute sandals Gray is wearing in the previous post. They are Rileyroos from Urban Baby Runway and I love them! (Gray does, too!)

  2. I don't know if you read my 7 randoms or NOT but one of my least favorite things in the whole wide world IS... CHERRIES!!! BUT I just googled Urban Baby Runway shoes and the first shoes that REALLY popped out at me were the little girl~Cherry Mary Janes!!! HOW Ironic!!!! Well cherries for decoration ARE cute but as a garnish ::GAG::

  3. Kids come up with the most clever nicknames, huh? ;)

My nickname in middle school was "Jane-o" as a take-off on "Drano" clog remover. I never really understood why, but the middle school boys taunted me with that name and it did a number on me!

Anyway, back to the present. Cute shoes!!!

PS - We had the drawing for the Marc Jacobs bag... another subscriber won, but since you referred the most people, you're getting a little prize! Email me at jane@pinksandblues.com and let me know where to send it! And thanks!!!

  4. Never been a big shoe person, myself, but if you're gonna get a nickname, that is DEFINITELY a cute one.

  9. They seem to hold his attention at least :) Maybe he's checking to see if he has enough toe room.

  10. That reminds me. I need to go shoe shopping. I'm down to one pair of sneakers, one pair of flip flops, and no acceptable dress shoes. It's pathetic. I love clothes shopping, but for some reason I've never been able to "get into" shoe shopping. Can you help me??!!

  11. I have some similar shoes like that for Taite called PediPeds. They will fit him around 1 year old.

With Caleb I had See Kai Run shoes last summer. SO NICE.

    http://www.babyboatshop.com << has them.

I may be getting some from them and some Robeez to review.. will see. The girl shoes are extremely cute 2.

  12. When I babysit for Gray, he always goes to his tote container of shoes and gets so excited when I ask him if he wants to put on his shoes....forget the toys! Steph did love her shoes growing up...she bypassed the clothes and went straight to the shoe dept.

  13. I think those shoes are way cute. They look a lot like some Stride Rite I saw at the shoe store recently. Just a bit of sole at the heel and ball of the foot. Great idea for durability and flexibility!

They're cute and I ove how he's pointing at his shoes!

  14. Too cute!
I've taken the Wog to the store 3 times to try to find his first shoes... he screams everytime I try to put them on his feet.

He must've been switched at birth!

  15. I'm pretty sure I still have that picture of all of us at prom, and your Doc Martens prominently displayed. I'll have to scan it and put it online :)

  17. Those shoes are so cute!

My husband also has a thing with shoes. I know a guy, but whenever we go shopping he wants to get new shoes.

  18. Wanna know something funny? "Shoes" was my first word as a baby. One would have thought that it was a precursor to a destiny of loving them, but alas ... I am quite shoe challenged.

  19. Thanks so much for the info on the shoes. I looked them up after you left a comment on my blog. Unfortunately, they don't come in a size 2 :(. I hope my son's feet grow fast so I can get some of these awesome shoes. They look a little like the Stride Rite ones I was looking at, but the price is much better!!

I like shoes, but I don't own that many pairs. However, I go nuts over baby shoes (and hats, and jackets...it drives my husband batty). I think I have about 10 or so pairs of Robeez for Lucas (plus several pairs of others, too). I love Robeez, but he is trying to walk and we have wood floors. The Robeez just don't provide enough traction. That is why I was trying to find something with rubber soles.

  20. My daughter is in to shoes and I thought it was a girl thing (like mommy). Now when my son wakes up, he says 'Shoes on Mommy'. He LOVES to wear his shoes. He gets attached to his shoes though! He isn't up for new shoes. We have to make him wear them a few times before he is convinced they are worthy! :o)

  21. I LOVE shoes too! A girl can never have too many, right?

  22. HA! Doc Martens... I used to have like 4 pairs, but ended up giving them away to some of my youth group kids a few years ago. I'd love to see that prom photo!!!

  23. She who dies with the most shoes wins.

At least isn't that what the good book says? :-)

  24. Shoes are so much fun! I just wish they didn't cost so much! :( Oh well, you gotta collect something right?!?!

  25. Dr. Martens to prom? That sounds like something I would have done.

  26. You're awesome, thanks so much for the linky! If you have a crush on me, the feeling is mutual. I'm glad you both like the shoes. I *heard* they're coming out w/limited availability/select styles in 18-24 month this fall.

Cricket used to sleep with shoes on, he's right there with you w/the shoe love.

I wonder if any of my old DM's are still around, probably somewhere w/my Creepers. I tried to find a pair of white 20 holes for my wedding but couldn't find them anywhere in my size. But then we switched wedding date from Nov to April, think the 20 holes would be a bit much!
