Every Day

Noah asked Daddy last night what we're doing after church next Sunday. He told him we'd be celebrating Mother's Day.

Noah thought about it and said "And Father's Day will be a little while after that?"

"That's right."

Noah thought a little more with a quizzical look upon his face, "So when is Kid's Day?"

Hey, I tagged you. If you've got too much on your plate and can't get to it, don't worry about it. :-)

  8. Yup, once I asked my dad when it would *finally* be Kids' Day and he gave me the age-old "every day is kids' day" line.

I thought that was a horribly mean and sarcastic thing for him to say! I had to do dishes, and everyone knows you don't have to do dishes on "your" day.

We all asked that question! I finally got tired of my kids asking so I did create a "special day" for each of them. We would celebrate 1/2 birthdays until the time they were about 8 or 9. On their "special day" they got to decide on activity to do and pick one meal. I figure that's pretty good...I still have to cook on Mother's Day!

  14. Very cute! Sometimes I wish I was able to record all the cute things my kids have said. I would love to be able to go back and hear it in their own little voices.

  15. In Belgium/Netherlands/northern France/ some of Germany, we celebrate "Sinteklaas" or "Saint Nicolas". He's the saint for the children and brings them toys on December 6th via the chimney. The children need to put a shoe out with some sweets for the horse that carries Sinterklaas.

The Dutch immigrants in New York brought their Saint Nicolas tradition with them...and it slowly spread and transformed in Santa Claus :).

  17. Silly boy, doesn't he know kids' day is every day including Mother and Father's day!

That is pretty funny though, such an honest question too.

So glad to hear your niece is doing better. It's always a very good thing when no surgery is needed.
