Today I've played catch up. I've vacuumed glitter from the carpet where Gray broke a snowglobe right before church yesterday (had to wait for it to dry and then it was Mother's Day after all- no vacuuming until today.) I've searched our entire backyard for a tiny Star Wars guy's gun. A tiny little black gun. Like the size of a little safety pin- or smaller. In the backyard. Full of blades of grass. Where he really wasn't supposed to have it in the first place. But it means so much to Carter so you better believe I am going to do my best to find it.
That's what Moms do- especially the day after Mother's Day.
It's like when you leave a full body massage appt. It feels great, but you have to go back home! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you today. Yes, I slept until ten thirty and read for an hour in the hammock - while the rest of my family trashed my house!
ReplyDeleteOh man. I hate those tiny guns. Just as bad as Barbie shoes. But you can't buy those guns or light sabers at the store. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thoughts today. Yesterday was so relaxing but wow I'm tired tonight.
ReplyDeleteHappy Day after Mother's Day. (says the gal under the 5 loads of laundry)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about playing catch up. I always hope that one day when I take a day off that everything will miraculously take care of itself. Of course it never does though so then I have to kick my butt into gear in order to get back on track the next day. Oh well I guess I should relish the day off!! Good luck with the itsy bitsy gun...whoever invented those pieces anyway??
ReplyDeleteMy kids are older so it's not so hard. Happy belated Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteYes the nap yesterday was heavenly, but life is back to normal around here... with twice as much laundry!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed your day (and hope you found the gun)!
Are you still outside looking for the gun? Hope you found it!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's great to be back to the Mom life, isn't it?
Oh I have so been there. The sad little look on their faces will make me search for anything they can't find.
ReplyDeleteone more search and rescue mission for a lego man and they will be BANNED FOREVER!!!! well at least until the bottom lip sticks out and then we will call in the reinforcements.
ReplyDeleteI get spoiled on Mother's Day! Laying around, not doing any housework, then-like you said- there is stuff left for you! Oh well! I wouldn't want life any other way! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was my day as well. I got a "mom, you don't have to do any chores today!" Monday...the piles of dishes and laundry grew. From taking one day off!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the search! They make those so small...
So glad to hear you had a nice Mother Day!!
ReplyDeleteWe had to get up early yesterday to play catch up since the SLP was coming! Thank goodness the FM was still home that early to help me!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I happened on your blog somehow (can't remember who's blog had the link?) and I'm so glad I did! I loved your post about searching for the toy gun! So funny! I'll be back again to come and read. (Prolly not tomorrow as my hubby and I are going to Johannesburg for our first meeting with an adoption agency so we can adopt from Russia! Toooo exciting!) So, enjoy the moments of madness with the kids. I can't wait to have some of my own. Moments of Madness. And kids!
ReplyDeletesounds like you had a great mother's day!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every second of looking for that tiny little black gun! When all your boys are grown up and live away from home, you will treasure these moments and stories!

Oh my gosh, we just packed up the toy room and at the bottom of the toy box were OODLES of swords and guns and various other weapons of action figures. Do you have an extra one anywhere?
ReplyDeleteYeah. The day after Mother's Day is hard. But I say you should have had hubby do the vacuuming and cleaning so the day after wouldn't have been such a rough transition. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good one!
I love learning from all of you moms.
ReplyDeleteGlad I stopped by!
our Yoda has been MIA for a week, we've had rain and the yard is a large swamp...hopefully we'll find it later.
