So Ashlee and I cooked up a plan all week to escape from Mom Duty last night. We didn't care what we did or where we went. Just needed a little break.
My form in this picture probably explains why I didn't even break 100! She won the 1st game and I won the second- barely. But it was good times. We thought about roller skating next- but that might be a bit risky if we were to get injured and then having to take care of the little ones and all. I've been down that road before. The things that become too dangerous now that we're moms!
We even stopped by Barnes & Noble since we had only been out a little over an hour by the time we were done bowling! I remembered Friday nights in highschool hanging out at Barnes & Noble near the art books and music magazines. We snatched up copies of the new Mothering and then browsed the children's section. Oh, and the food books, too.
And we were gone just a couple hours, but it was good. And we missed our guys. And it was just what I needed.
What fun. I haven't been bowling in about a hundred years. It's nice to have some time away that way you appreciate them so much when you return.
ReplyDeleteOh, I had so much fun! I swear those spares and strikes were all flukes! I love when we get together, it's like we've been sisters all our lives (minus the fights and stuff!) Definitely need to do this again! Refreshed and recharged!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Ashlee

ReplyDeleteVery fun! I had a girls nite out last night too.
ReplyDeleteFriends and I lately have said we've been reverting to high school with our activities, but we realized last night it's more like grade school--we played ping pong and then went rollerskating. Sounds like everyone just wants some good, clean fun these days!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun night out! :-)

ReplyDeleteY'all are too cute! I definitely need more mama time outs.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how what section you are drawn to changes with time. I was at Borders today and was drawn to the children's section, what's new? I used to be all about the fashion magazines...ahh, life changes!
ReplyDeleteFun girly time rocks. I'm glad you had fun!! =)
