Possessions

Probably the most cherished material thing I own is my wedding ring. I love it. I look at it and it just means so much to me. Unfortunately a prong just broke on it and I am without it at the moment while it is being fixed!

But, here are two other important little things I own that mean a great deal to me, no matter their small size.

My tea-time turtle from Strawberry Shortcake. I have no idea if that's his real name, but that's what I've always called him, and I've treasured this little toy for some reason. Right now he sits in a candle on my stove ledge. A reminder of more innocent times, maybe.

And a postcard from my Gram, who passed away when I was in 2nd grade. I was so close to her and probably am just like her today. This post card hung on my wall when I first moved away from home. I keep this in a hat box with old photos, and I feel safe when I find it again.

If you're playing along, please sign Mr. Linky below linking to your photo tag Possessions post.

I am not sure how long I'll keep up this weekly tag, but due to all the Crocs love, how about a Show Me Your Crocs for next week's? And if you don't have Crocs, show us the shoes you live in or just gotta have...

  1. As soon as I saw the picture of your little turtle it brought back my own childhood memories of Strawberry Shortcake. I even had the red Strawberry house storage container.

Hopefully your sister in law's delivery goes well. We will keep her in our prayers!

  3. Oh man I totally stink!!! I forgot all about this (I even had planned what possesions I was going to blog!)and I just posted theBeast's birthstory! Ugh. I'll definately play next week though, and maybe by then I'll have my new prima crocs!!!

I never had that turtle, but whenever I smell certain things, it reminds me of Stawberry Shortcake or one of her friends, and brings back tons of childhood memories for me!

  4. Your turtle made my think of my little smurf figurines. Good times!!! And it was certainly simpler back then. Makes me feel good, too.

AND I love that you kept the p-card from your Grandma. I wish I kept some of that stuff. I've been better lately. I know it'll mean a lot one day!!

  7. isunshine just brought back even more memories. How funny that a lot of those things have come back.

I think the postcard from your Grandma is wonderful. A treasure for sure. My grandma who I was SO close to growing up is in a nursing home now. She has her good days but mostly doesn't even know me or my sisters now. It is so hard to see her like that.

  15. I have to think about this one. I always have a hard time picking favorite stuff.

BTW, I have to return my crocs. :( They're a little too wide for my one foot. I swear I have uneven feet!!!!

  18. First, I had that same turtle as part of my Strawberry Shortcake toys when I was a little girl! I forgot about him until I saw your pic.

This is a fun blog tag post but I am traveling away from home this week and I've got nothing to share with me. :-)

As for Crocs, I hear how comfy they are but they are just so... unattractive! I haven't caved in and bought a pair yet.

  19. Oh, I wish I had played along this week... I have a letter from my Grandma and Bobo and $5 that I keep in my Christmas stocking. Every Christmas season I read it and look at my Grandma's handwriting and just love the reminder of them.

    Anyway, great!
