I can't believe I am posting this. I think I was in 5th grade, but I hesitate to say that because shouldn't I have known better by then? Anywhoo... I'll let you choose your own caption to this one. It's a doozy! Raise your hand if you had the big Sally Jesse glasses, too! Permed hair, too. And yes, Lori, that is a Swatch watch!

You are a brave, brave woman. My nickname in elementary school was "Coon" because my glasses were so big and dark (I had the nice tortoise shell glasses). What scares me most about this picture is the lovely PeeWee doll. Yikes!

ReplyDeleteI wish I could play I have some that my compete with this one but I don't have any of them. My Mom has all the hard copys and while I have some from my child hood I wasn't exactly eager to go copying the say 5th-7th grade ones!!!! Maybe I'll have her bring some on her next visit and post it then!
My favorite part is that Pee Wee Herman is "listening" to your walkman.
ReplyDeleteThis pic brings back lots of memories of me, my sis, and our best friend when we were that age. Although I'm not going to post any pics on MY blog, I will tell you that we once got all dolled up in "cool" clothes, teased our hair, and took fashion shots of oursleves to send to our favorite boy band :) Those photos still exsist...but I'm not telling where they are :)
I had the glasses too. I didn't have the Swatch (we couldn't afford it) but I did get one of those silly elastic watch face guards that made a cheap watch look like a swatch. :)
