And then there were none…
Once upon a time this was a house filled with three kids and three dogs and messes... chaos was bountiful. Then we were down to just one dog… until this week.
Last weekend Gucci snapped at Gray in the face- he’s ok, all is well, but we could not keep the dog. No need to see if she would bite twice.
A wonderful lady from the rescue group came to get her yesterday morning and now in our house lives only humans. The boys did ask if they could get a fish pet. I might be willing to bend on that one.
What are you doing up at 4:59 am anyway???
ReplyDeleteI think you made a wise decision getting rid of biting doggy. I'm sure it was difficult though, I think your going to have to give-in on the fish thing.
How are YOU holding up?
ReplyDeleteI hope you're doing ok, with all this... maybe you should adopt a couple of hermit crabs! :) lol
ReplyDeleteHow are the boys? Our dog, a big black lab, is at my husband's uncle's house for now since we can't have him here. I'm not even sure we are taking him back after our house is done. I have mixed feeling on that one.
ReplyDeleteOh, no...I'm sorry you had to say goodbye to your dog, but I totally understand it was something that had to be done.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I clicked on "Blog of the Week" to check it out and was quite surprised! It was so familiar...LOL!
Thanks.
hmmm...very interesting...i am considering getting a dog for my son. but my hubby says no.
ReplyDeleteyou did the right thing about the dog. sue had to put down her dog because he attempted to bite a child. we had been so worried about him biting jackson (this was long before Julia arrived) because he had bitten my husband before and was starting to bite even more. it was hard - but the vet said we had to. Once a dog has started biting like that it is just too dangerous. But it was soooo upsetting!
You made the right choice. We had to have a CAT put down once because it attacked our then-toddler, unprovoked. I'm sorry that you had a scare.
ReplyDeleteOnly humans? Maybe a fish wouldnt be all that bad....Nemo maybe?
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm sorry to hear that you had to loose the dog. Actually, you know how I feel about dogs, but I know Jeff and the kids are probably sad and I am sad about that.
ReplyDeleteGucci/Pretty Girl is doing wonderful in her new foster home. Dobie and Jake were adopted by a wonderful man who loves them. All it takes is the RIGHT home for a dog to blossom into the beautiful creatures they are. These dogs will now be totally loved and make someone a wonderful companion.
ReplyDeleteYou did the right thing
ReplyDeleteI love watching fish so peaceful
sori you had to get rid of your dog thou
Oh, yes. Sad indeed. So sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you had to do that, but I think it will make things a lot easier now. I would love the courage to find new homes for at least one of our dogs.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's sad. :( We adopted a dog last year from the humane society and had her for seven weeks before she started acting aggressive towards my dh and MIL. I had to make the difficult decision to take her back (had to pay to take her back even). The kids still ask for her sometimes. :(
