I've been caught singing in the car before and usually do one of two things- either pretend I was talking to someone in the backseat (whether there is someone back there or not!) or I just keep on singing and act like I didn't know someone was watching me. Kinda like when you trip over something in public and then you just continue a little jog forward like you meant to go for a little run! Ha- everyone knows you just tripped. Why do we do the things we do?

Been Caught Singing
It was such a nice day today and while we were out & about with our windows down I observed a very happy guy singing loudly and energetically to whatever was playing in his car. I had to smile- he was so carefree. It's a good thing.

How nice that you can drive around with your windows down! I like to see people singing in their cars too.

I completely tripped over the stroller yesterday in public. It was AWFUL! If I'd been alone, I'd likely have burst into tears but since other people were present I had to maintain whatever dignity I had left and limp home.
ReplyDeletei have a rule in the car. no singing unless we are moving. that way if someone sees me it's not for long. stopping for lights or people in cross-walks means a pause in the singing. cause i'm a freak like that.

I think it's great that we can laugh at ourselves and each other! Besides, singing loud in the car is just plain fun!

ReplyDeleteI love singing with my windows up because people might actually think I have a good singing voice!! When it's nice out, I follow kate's rule of only in motion. One exception: when Emma HAS to hear Itsy Bitsy Spider one last time. How can I say no?? :)
ReplyDeleteI used to sing in the car together with my boyfriend (now my hubby). We have a similarity in loving the same genre of songs. We love Lionel Richie (in fact, his songs were our love songs *wink*).
