It's Just So Pretty

Slings are to babywearers as shoes or purses are to most women.

You just can't have too many.

This Oopa Baby sling in Chambray with Lime Green Floral is longing to join my collection.

I'll be dreaming sweet sling-y dreams of it tonight...

  2. Man, I love all these pretty prints...I just can't afford them! $45-$90 usually. I just can't justify that when I'm a sahm and hubby doesn't make much to boot!! Poor me. I just have a plain blue one.

  3. too cute! I wish I could afford more than one utility item for Liam... but gosh darn it there are just so many... I finally had to get a bigger diaper bag a couple weeks ago... the trendy small one wasn't cutting it.

  5. That is very cute sling! I never used one with my little guy, and I'm kind of kicking myself for it! If I ever have another one, I'm totally going to get one!

  6. FlipFlop: That one IS purdy! They all are! I don't own any that are that expensive, but they do look worth the money to me!

I *need* to learn how to make them myself, but I can just see myself going crazy at the fabric store and then that's just one less thing I need be doing right now!

  7. I didn't have a sling w/ my first. WHY, I don't know. Probably would've meant less colic and screaming.
Next one we're investing in a good sling. (which will hopefully be sooner than later). I am bookmarking this site-thanks! I LOVE the pattern in the pic. you shared. :)

  8. Quick question (& sorry if it's a dumb one; I've never used a sling before).

After looking at the other patterns and slings on that site, I noticed they're very long. Would it not be a worry about tripping while wearing your baby? I'm not that tall, and w/ that length of a sling I'd worry about tripping.

  9. BE-AU-TI-FUL... I remember dreaming of new clothes or shoes (for me of course) and now we dream of new slings, robeez and nursing bras. I LOVE it!

  10. Sharon:

Some are long- and I did see that some sites offer slings for petite sizes. the length is nice so you can have extra to cover baby while nursing if you'd like, or I use the "tail" for covering when it's colder or the sun is beating down... but I don't have any that are SUPER long. Also some moms bring up the tail to tuck in, too. I would email the site you are looking at & ask them about the lengths!

P.S. I DO love mei tais if ring slings aren't for you, and Urban Baby Runway has a nice selection if you want to check theirs out at http://www.urbanbabyrunway.com !

  12. I'm too scared to splurge for an Oopa - I'm not as into RSs yet as I am into wraps. BUT, have you all seen the For Sale Or Trade forum at www.thebabywearer.com??? They get Oopas there every now and then at a much lower price (since they are used). Just thought I'd share though it may be common knowledge here!

  13. I've never heard of this kind...are they different in some way from the norm? Or are they just "purty"? LOL I'm going to have to go check those out! WOOHOO!

p.s. I made that wrap, you know, like the cuddlywrap or moby...and I loved it...but for some reason I missed my maya. So I used it today with Rachie for the first time since she was a newborn. QUITE different. I think I will be using it alot more.

  14. I love thebabywearer.com's forums, but had to chill out from it for a while because it was so addictive!!

I did get my mei tai as a trade.

But now that I am also in love with this Oopa it couldn't hurt to take a peek could it? : )

  16. We had a funky blue and white Hawaiian print sling this time - I let my husband pick it out. But alas, my baby recently wore out a gigantic hole in it, which means her sling days are over! We've gone through a sling per baby.

  17. Great website, cute pictures and wonderful baby slings. I have never used one, I feel as though they would kill my back. My boys were/are big babies. Does it hurt?

  18. Amanda- it doesn't hurt at all! Much more comfy than the standard Baby Bjorn (in my opinion!) I sold my Baby Bjorn on eBay to make money to buy more slings!!
