And not to say that what I am doing now (holding sleeping stuffy baby close to my chest) isn't productive. I would be the last person in the world to think that.
It's ok for me to hold baby and get to the laundry/dishes/vacuuming later. I am quite sure it will still be there. It's also ok for me to wish I had the house all to myself so I could get all those things done. -Or do something dreamy like knitting and reading and sleeping all day long. I just hope that when baby is feeling better that my love affair with the laundry still exists...
I know what you mean. It can be hard ignoring all of the things that need to be done, while you sit with a baby in your arms. However, at the same time, there's nothing like ignoring all of the things that need to be done, while you sit with a baby in your arms.
ReplyDeleteI know that you already know that though. :)
Boy, can I relate! When Matt and Mark suffered through rotavirus I actually missed taking Matt to preschool and running errands which I usually complain about. Just wait, you'll be tending to laundry and wishing for time on the couch again! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree...holding the baby is more 'important', but I get the same way when Eli is clingy... for some reason I long to clean! Usually that urge dies when he becomes 'independant' again though (which doesn't help my house at all!).
ReplyDeleteEli is stuffy right now too - poor babies!
Yeah you know it must be pretty bad when you can't wait to do laundry...hehe!!
ReplyDeleteNap? Nap? What's a nap?
ReplyDeleteman, did I write that post? I could swear that EVERY single thing in there is exactly what I have going on right now. I have started 3 different baby afghans...they are in a tote bag sitting in the corner beside my couch...I have started a new book...the laundry is on hold....see MY latest post about Mt Washmore...and HEY< I would love a nap too....and two of my kids have the sniffles...one being the baby. :-(
ReplyDeleteHope the baby is better soon and that you are able to lie down to rest and read too. How about a nice cup of tea? ;-)
Jen- a cup of tea sounds nice... I have been drinking the Mother's Milk tea for nursing, but maybe even THIS cup of tea should be JUST for me for once!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. it's funny how when we are all honest about what we are feeling- we find out that lots of other moms are feeling the same thing!
How true. For me, today was alot better. it started off kinda bad but I discovered, once again, that sometimes all it takes is talking it out with a good friend. I was finally able to get some stuff done around the madhouse! hahaha.
