Sakura Bloom Triathlon GRAND PRIZE WINNER

It was hard enough judging each of the three rounds, and THEN we had to choose only one winner out of all?

There was no other way to call it than a tie. :)

This Triathlon blew my mind. It started out over a little phone call with Lynne at Sakura Bloom. We struck up a friendship and chatted for HOURS. And brainstormed a little ol' idea that turned into the Sakura Bloom Triathlon.

I am so fond of each of our seven contestants in many different ways. I feel blessed and honored that they entered this contest and went with it with their full hearts.

I want to echo everything Steph said: it has been such a joy to do this contest and get to know these seven amazing women and their families over the last two months. I wish I could meet each and every one of them in person!

So much has happened: two babies were born during the contest, one of the videos went viral, and we collectively spread the love of babywearing to family and friends around the world. Hooray!

Our congratulations to Leigh and Sara Sophia, and our heartfelt thanks to all the participants for allowing us into their lives and for touching our hearts in so many ways.

  4. Not really related to this post but I have a question. I'm about 4 months pregnant with my first baby and just got my first pouch as a shower gift. I'm so excited about getting to use it but was recently asked a question that totally stumped me....say you are out shopping at target wearing your baby and you have to go to the bathroom. What do you do? If he/she's in an infant carrier or stroller, you just take the baby and device into a handicap stall right, but what about a sling or wrap?

  8. I can't even count how many times I have gone to the bathroom with lily in the sling! It's alot easier than trying to hold her (without a sling) or God forbid put her down (those first few months, she was in my arms 24 hours a day). And then trying to squeeze a stroller into a public bathroom....ugh. no thank you!

    Heehee.

    Oh, all the advantages to babywearing!

  10. I have loved following this whole thing. Beautiful videos, as well!

    @MacKenzie- I've been places where the handicapped stall was out of commission, or still very small and the cart couldn't fit in there and still have the door close. Babywearing was a lifesaver!

    Just the best.

    And being a co-winner? The happiest ending<3 Thank you so much to everyone involved--meeting each one of you was a treasure and I am so happy to be a part of a bigger babywearing community now.

    And yeah, potty-ing with baby?
    You have no idea how much easier it is:P Makes me wanna break out with "If ya love 'em then ya shoulda put a sling on 'em...."

  15. How fun that was! I loved seeing everyone's pictures AND the sample sale is to die for-I'm wishing now I had another baby on the way so I could justify getting one. Ben has started to fight the slings now that he can RUN :)

  21. I've been a silent reader for a little while and followed your Sakura Bloom Triathlon hoping to find a carrier that I actually love. I have two boys and my littlest, loves to be carried. We joke that he is never going to walk because he prefers us to carry him. So, I bought my first sling from Sakura Bloom's sample sale and I LOVE it. (I have an Ergo, Bjorn and some other sling, and I'm not a huge fan of any of them.) I can do so much with him in the sling and it is so easy to put on. So, I just wanted to comment and say thanks. :)
