Sakura Bloom Triathlon GRAND PRIZE WINNER

Um, I mean WINNERS.

Leigh of Marvelous Kiddo & Sara Sophia of tout-est-des-roses.

It was hard enough judging each of the three rounds, and THEN we had to choose only one winner out of all?

There was no other way to call it than a tie. :)

Leigh's Round One answers one, two, and three.
Sara's Round One answers one, two, and three.

Leigh & Sarah's Round Two photo entries:

Leigh's Round Three video: (Baby Mamas) Put a Sling On 'Em

Sara's Round Three video: Babywearing is Magical

Our TWO grand prize winners will EACH receive a Sakura Bloom Luxe sling of their choice, made from eco-friendly, rare, wild silk handloomed in Southeast Asia. [Retail value $540]

This Triathlon blew my mind. It started out over a little phone call with Lynne at Sakura Bloom. We struck up a friendship and chatted for HOURS. And brainstormed a little ol' idea that turned into the Sakura Bloom Triathlon.

I am so fond of each of our seven contestants in many different ways. I feel blessed and honored that they entered this contest and went with it with their full hearts.

And now a special message from Lynne at Sakura Bloom:

I want to echo everything Steph said: it has been such a joy to do this contest and get to know these seven amazing women and their families over the last two months. I wish I could meet each and every one of them in person!

So much has happened: two babies were born during the contest, one of the videos went viral, and we collectively spread the love of babywearing to family and friends around the world. Hooray!

Our congratulations to Leigh and Sara Sophia, and our heartfelt thanks to all the participants for allowing us into their lives and for touching our hearts in so many ways.

As a thank you to all of you that have followed along during the Sakura Bloom Triathlon, Sakura Bloom is offering a sample sale now live with many one-of-a-kind slings, including some of the beautiful slings seen during the Triathlon.

With admiration and gratitude,
Lynne and everyone at Sakura Bloom

  1. Congrats ladies! I am so happy I got a chance to participate with you, get to know your blogs and become followers! All your entries were beautiful!

  2. I'm so sad this is over! Loved following along every step, and hello amazing sale!

  3. Congrats to the winners - and you Steph! What an amazing event!

  4. Not really related to this post but I have a question. I'm about 4 months pregnant with my first baby and just got my first pouch as a shower gift. I'm so excited about getting to use it but was recently asked a question that totally stumped me....say you are out shopping at target wearing your baby and you have to go to the bathroom. What do you do? If he/she's in an infant carrier or stroller, you just take the baby and device into a handicap stall right, but what about a sling or wrap?

  5. What a fun contest this was. Congrats to the winners!

  6. MacKenzie,

Well, a great thing about babywearing is that you can wear your baby WHILE you go to the bathroom! :)

  7. Oh how fun! Congrats, mamas! It all made me miss having a babe to wear. Sniff.

  8. I can't even count how many times I have gone to the bathroom with lily in the sling! It's alot easier than trying to hold her (without a sling) or God forbid put her down (those first few months, she was in my arms 24 hours a day). And then trying to squeeze a stroller into a public bathroom....ugh. no thank you!

Oh, all the advantages to babywearing!

  9. Congrats Ladies! both of your videos were awesome! totally awesome!

Steph and Lynne, thank you so much for including me! It was a wonderful opportunity!

  10. I have loved following this whole thing. Beautiful videos, as well!

@MacKenzie- I've been places where the handicapped stall was out of commission, or still very small and the cart couldn't fit in there and still have the door close. Babywearing was a lifesaver!

  11. Congratulations ladies!! I loved both of your videos. Everyone did such a great job, and it was fun to follow along!!

  12. YAY!! A super way to solve such a difficult challenge - TWO winners.

This has been a wonderful contest to follow. Everyone was terrific.

Congrats to Leigh & Sara Sophia, and all the wonderful contestants.

Look forward to more in the future.

  13. Hooray for the winners, and hooray for me! I just scored a linen sling in spice for wicked cheap! Thanks, Steph and SB!

  14. This was the best ever.
    Just the best.

And being a co-winner? The happiest ending<3 Thank you so much to everyone involved--meeting each one of you was a treasure and I am so happy to be a part of a bigger babywearing community now.

    And yeah, potty-ing with baby?
You have no idea how much easier it is:P Makes me wanna break out with "If ya love 'em then ya shoulda put a sling on 'em...."

I heart you all and am kind of on a cloud of sheer THRILL and disbelief---best Thursday YET.

    Sara Sophia

  15. How fun that was! I loved seeing everyone's pictures AND the sample sale is to die for-I'm wishing now I had another baby on the way so I could justify getting one. Ben has started to fight the slings now that he can RUN :)

  16. i am laughing like crazy over here!!! i didnt watch the winning video when it was first posted, but im so glad i did now! too funny, best imitation of that video ever!!!

  17. Congratulations to the winners! And Lynn, thank you so much for the sample sale. My mom just bought one of the samples for me for Christmas. It will be my FIRST ring sling. I'm beyond excited.

  18. OMG!! LOVE LOVE LOVE these videos! My daughter has watched the first one over and over! She's wearing her sling dancing around, it's too cute! Congratulations ladies you deserve it, enjoy those slings!!!

  19. Congrats to both of the [very deserving] winners! :)

  20. I've been a silent reader for a little while and followed your Sakura Bloom Triathlon hoping to find a carrier that I actually love. I have two boys and my littlest, loves to be carried. We joke that he is never going to walk because he prefers us to carry him. So, I bought my first sling from Sakura Bloom's sample sale and I LOVE it. (I have an Ergo, Bjorn and some other sling, and I'm not a huge fan of any of them.) I can do so much with him in the sling and it is so easy to put on. So, I just wanted to comment and say thanks. :)

Your comment is gonna totally make my day!
