And Now She Has Frequently Asked Questions!

FAQ

Will you link to my blog?

Sure! As long as your blog is tasteful, I’ll probably link you- just email me or leave a comment letting me know you’ve linked me and I’ll add you to my blogroll.

Why don’t you read my blog/comment, too?

Ah, this is where blogging gets sticky! Of course we all love comments and love to read blogs, but often I have just enough time to post on my own blog, and not a lot of time to sit down and read other blogs all day. I do read a lot through Bloglines when I get the chance, and if I have a moment to comment, I will. But, if I don’t leave a comment, it doesn’t mean I didn’t stop by!

If there is a certain post you’d really like for me to read, then please leave a comment or email me to let me know!

Aren’t you concerned for your family’s privacy? Why do you post their pictures and names?

Of course, I want my family to be safe. Regarding privacy, we gave up quite a bit of anonymity when sharing Noah’s story in newspapers and medical pieces, websites, etc. We believe that this has done way more good than harm. As I consider blogging professionally, I also realize that I’ll be giving my right up for much privacy. So far this is something that hubby and I are comfortable with. I encourage you to make the best decision for yourself regarding your privacy and blogging.

Will you answer my babywearing question?

Sure! Just email me or leave a comment sometime with your question and I’d be glad to answer it. Also check out my past Babywearing Posts.

What are your tips for someone just learning about how to "go green?"

You can
read my posts here about the little steps I've been taking to live a greener life. I love the daily tips from Ideal Bite and also The Green Guide is a great site for greener living.

How many blogs do you have?

I have a knitting blog called And She Knits: The Diaries and a blog called Close To Home at NWIparent. I am a contributor for Mama Speaks, Tasty Vegan, and The Chicago Moms Blog.

Have you become a sell-out by all your ads and reviews?

Maybe I have in some people’s opinion, but I don’t feel bad about it at all! I’d like to think that I am on my way to becoming a professional blogger and will take most any free product or money for advertising, as long as I keep the integrity of my words, beliefs, and self.

How do you get to do all those giveaways?

Many companies and websites offer free products to me so that I’ll mention them here on my blog. Sometimes I’ll see something I’d like to try and I’ll contact the company directly. Eventually I plan on filtering most of my product and site reviews over to Mama Speaks, but I do enjoy being able to give away fun stuff here on my blog, too.

You really don’t vaccinate your children?

My husband and I have done a whole lot of research and have come to the decision that we will not vaccinate our children. Our older two boys have shown reactions to the vaccines that they received as babies and also we have to consider Noah’s story and not wanting to aggravate anything else in our children’s bodies. We are not convinced that vaccines are safe- who knows what will be found out years from now. We don’t want to subject our children to be experiments with all those shots.

We are fully aware and prepared in the event our children get the chicken pox, tetanus, measles, etc. Many parents are uninformed about most of the illnesses that children are vaccinated for (and also what is in the ingredients of those vaccines) and some are afraid of what might happen if their child is not vaccinated. Some parents are afraid to stand up to their doctor and some are just worried about what other people may think. Many parents also have the false assumption that their child can not go to school without vaccinations.

You can read what I’ve written about vaccinations here and a list of all the posts I've written about vaccines here. Just as I don’t want someone telling me how to parent my children, I will not tell you how to parent yours. Don't only go by what I have to say and don't only go by what your doctor has to say. I recommend researching both the benefits and dangers of vaccinations and then making the decision that is best for your family.

How long do you plan to nurse Gray?

Gray is 2 years old now and we're pretty much almost done with nursing, but still do now & then. I still plan on letting things go at a pace that is natural for him and me, and think he'll be finished or close to it when our next baby arrives this fall.
